Normal F-150 w/ Plow....who say's no?
Normal F-150 w/ Plow....who say's no?
Thought this was interesting....

It's a Xlt chrome package Crewcab 6.5' box 4x4 with normal 6 lug wheels so no HD package....
And I am 99% sure that it says in the manual that only F-150's with the HD package can have a plow yet they show the above truck with a plow and a big V-blade plow at that.....so either it has changed or who ever is doing the marketing/advertising for this ad needs a boot up there azz.

Yes, I hear you. I think they chose the wrong truck depiction to match the program.
And, I think the picture itself, notwithstanding that maybe they should not even be showing that truck model, is Photoshopped.

You know know that I look at it again it does look to be photoshopped in. IMO that is misleading and bad advertising on there part.
Either way if it states one thing in the manual and then you print an ad showing something else hoping that the guy reading it won't be the wiser is a poor way of doing it.
But like SteveVfx4 said he has seen regular F-150's with regular plows and so have I. Can an F-150 handle a plow?, you bet.... but I would not want a #800 pound plus v-blade hanging on the front end of it as shown in the pic

That's what he must have meant.
Most plow dealers are hesitant to install a plow on a 1/2 ton truck because of the liability of something going wrong and them being blamed for it.
Also with the way that truck is set up there's no way they would install a V plow on it. Even a ploy V like that.
The blade looks like a newer model Boss Power V XT. The problem is that no manufacturer uses that style of lights. They are all rounded out now. Also all the new V blades have flared ends to improve rolling of the sides. There is no way that plow is actually attached to that truck and the lights don't line up properly.

The manual is not clear on this but I think they mean the SuperCrew is not recommended for plowing straight from the factory because it does not come with a snowplow prep package. However, if you have a SuperCrew with a 5.4 and 4 wheel drive, you may upgrade to the snow plow prep package at the dealer and obtain the programming at the dealer.
