I just put these babies on yesterday! I know I have a 2007 f150 and not an 2009 but the IFS is exactly the same except for some minor details. It only took me about 2 and half hours which was faster than I thought. I noticed that I now have greater control of my 35s and that my wheel hop is gone! Very smooth ride and well worth the money. No matter what year you have you should buy bilstein 5100s!

How involved is it to install the shocks? Is it easier than adding spacers/leveling kit? It's been at least 20 years since I replaced a set of shocks and I suspect tungsten have changed some...

Its not bad at all, I just rented coil compressors from autozone and knocked it out in 2 and a half hours. Im only 17 years old and still learning much about trucks so if I can do this anybody can.

Very similar! just the ones I had seemed a little more bulky and built for more heavy duty applications

Is an alignment needed after you install the 5100s?

Yep if you use the front leveling ones.

They shouldn't be any more susceptible to durability issues than the stock shocks.
