2010 FX4 rear spring question

My new FX4 Screw arrived on the lot today. I have not taken delivery as they have to do the PDI and add some accessories.

I ordered the 6.5ft box with Max Tow package on 18" rims and LT tires.
The window sticker and the door plate indicate 7700#.

However, there are only 3 springs (short one on the bottom then 2 long) in the rear suspension!

Every other F150 on the lot with Max Tow 7700# ratings have 4 springs.
The 7200# F150's on the lot have only the 3 spring set up.

There are no other FX4's on the lot.
The dealer is trying to tell me that the FX4 has a unique suspension.
Is he correct?
Or did the factory put the #'s on the door, but forget to put the goods in the truck?
thanks
cory

How does max tow have 18"?

I thought they all came with 20s unless you specified.

You can have 18" or 20" as the tire option with the Max Trailer tow

18" tire option without Max trailer tow package = 3 leaves

18" tire option with Max trailer tow package = 4 leaves

20" tire option get 4 leaves regardless if you have the max trailer tow package or no

SO, if there are only 3 leaves on the 18" max tow truck....

I should decline delivery based on a factory mistake / oversite?

Please advise, supposed to take delivery on the Mar. 10th!

thanks
cory

I guess that is up to you, but according to the order guides that is what they should have.

It does sound like u are counting them right too...

Your in the US right?

My llocation is Alberta, Canada.

Truck was built at the Dearborn Plant on Feb. 15th.

There must be an official Ford phone # / website to contact?

Maybe the Cdn specification for max tow is different than the US version?
Interesting situation. Look up the phone number at Ford Canada's website.

I believe the FX4 has unique suspension tuning so it may be possible to have 18's and max tow (4 leaves).

I wouldn't decline delivery because of this issue. I am sure this is something that can be taken care after the fact if it is wrong.

Agreed. I sent Ford Canada an email via the website. I'll post any results here.

I am surprised that this topic has not come up on this forum before.

Truck was ordered Jan. 25th, build date was Feb. 15th, arrived here (Alberta) on Mar. 8th. Impressive!!

Due to take delivery this afternoon.

I just went and looked at my 10 FX4 with the 18's and the tow pkg and it has 3 long leafs on top of the short one. Mine is a short bed so I don't know if that makes any difference or not. I wouldn't think so though. Hope this helps

Thanks Westpoint....

Any members with the Max Tow, 18's, and the 6.5ft box?

How many rear springs does your stock 2010 FX4 have?

Your max tow should have in total 4. If not its a mistake!
