Before anyone says anything, I have used the search feature...

I just upgraded my '04 SCrew to a '10 SCrew and it came with remote start. That remote start has a separate fob from the key-less entry. As I understand from another site the only way to combine fobs is to replace the remote start with a gold remote start. Is that really true?

If it is true, can someone give me information on the gold alarm? Perhaps a link to some specs or something? And why wouldn't ford use this gold module as the default?
