Corrosion/Oxidation Problems

Hey everyone, one of my buddies just bought a 2010 Lariat. The chrome accessories (grill, bumpers, running boards) have started to get some oxidated spots on them and he asked me to see if anyone has had a similar problem/ has a solution. Our trucks are in Colorado but the stealership said that the parts shouldn't be adversely affected by the Mag Chloride on the roads. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had some pitting on my '07 side steps and my aunt that works for a ford dealership said they'll replace them no problem (she is the head of a parts dept. and has had to order them for other customers because of this reason). Not sure on the grille cause I'm assuming it's plastic and not metal. I had a small rust spot on my back bumper too but she said it couldn't be replaced because of my aftermarket exhaust could have caused "excessive moisture". Sorry I can't tell you how the side step problem turned out because I got rid of my '07 for an '09. Hope some of this helps!

I live in Colorado too and went with the fx4 since it has a black grill. Even so, the front blue Ford oval has started to show spots due to the MgCl2. I am also seeing a plastic protection on that Emblem start to peel away. Anyone else seen this? Anyways, chrome doesn't do well in these parts. Your dealer is lying....surprise, surprise.
