I got a leveling kit on ebay a few weeks back. its a 2.5 inch that said 04-09 2x4 and 4x4.

i installed a 3 inch on my old 2006 without problems, but i am having issues installing this on my 09

i took everything apart and pulled the strut completely out. screwed on the stud extensions and dropped the spacer on. I could not get the strut to fit back in no matter what i tried. this kit does not require the strut to be installed backwards. they give you stud extenstions and you reinstall the strut in the factory orientation. i even disconnected the sway bar to get more room. any ideas. i needed about another inch for the strut to be able to fit back in.

I dropped the lower control arms by removing the two big bolts and the strut went back in super easy. Less than 30 minutes to do the second one after I figured it out. Just used the jack to hold the control arm up. Jacked it back into place and slid the two bolts back through easily.

What brand kit are you trying to install?
