2010 Platinum Wheels

Are the lug nuts exposed?

My father-in-law's 2010 platinum wheels got stolen off his truck after a week of ownership and I'm trying to get a complete locking lug net set.

I want to go with the Gorilla System along with 4 other different locking lug nut setup(two locks per wheel). I need to know if the lug nuts are exposed or not.

Thanks,
Justin

Not sure what you mean by "exposed". They're recessed lug nuts and yes you can see them without removing any cover.

That sucks about your FIL. I was thinking of putting some locks on my Platinum wheels. Or an alarm. I haven't decided yet.

They had a factory ford alarm on their truck, sitting right outside their window. I told them not to waste their money on an alarm unless it's a top of the line Clifford or what not.

But to clarify, you can take the lug nuts off without removing anything from the wheel?

Doesn't take too long to go to the Ford website and look at what the Platinum wheels look like - or just call and ask the owner.

Thank you smart ***, I have done that, and it's hard to tell if you need to remove the cap or not.

The owner doesn't know because his WHEELS GOT STOLEN

Or to just answer the question.

FatherFord, the lug nuts can be removed without removing anything from the wheel.

Well there's your answer. Just out of curiosity, what is the trim piece for then? Is the hole in it big enough to fit a socket?

The above picture sent me on a walk to my truck. I was mistaken...... you have to pop that plate off in order to get a lug wrench on the nuts.

Ford part #6L3Z-1A043-AA is the correct part # for the locking wheel nuts for the Platinum

Yes, that center cap has to come off in order to get a socket on the lug nut...
