Need a favor from 09+ owners

I sat in a new platinum yesterday at an auto show and noticed that ford finally addressed the gaping chasm that is the console in the 04-08 trucks. the platinum had a small removable tray in the console, and while my 05 doesn't have a provision to hold the tray, creating two simple brackets to hold it should be very easy. can someone measure the length of the tray (even the length of the opening of the console should suffice as well) so that i can determine how well it will fit? thanks.

There is a
retangle tray in front of the shifter = 6 3/4 x 4 x 2 1/4
one on the right of the shifter for cup holder = 9 x 4 3/4 x 3 1/2
and on the right side panel a pocket = 11 x 5

I know what you are talking about but I am not able to go out and measure it right now (still at work). If nobody has gotten it to you by the time I get home I will get the measurement for you.

8-1/8" x 12-1/8" (09 Lariat)

This is the opening, not including the channels for the tray.

to the rest of you, thanks for your help.

Oh I thought you were talking about the ones in the console not in the storage bay. That little tray is nice, but it gets in the way sometimes when trying to get to stuff in the storage bay.

thanks man, i appreciate it. just need to get a part number so i can see how much one runs.

tbraquet: any organization is welcomed. 04-08 consoles are just a giant box, nothing whatso ever to organize anything.

I know what you mean. I had an 04 screw, I didn't realize how much crap I had in there until I removed it to put in my 2010. BTW the 2010 does not have as much room as the 04 did for storage in the console bin. :o

so i got a reply back from Tasca which included this image:

I can't be certain, but it looks like the only tray in the pic looks like it goes in the bottom of the console if I'm reading this right. Can someone confirm? Sometimes Ford puts part numbers on the bottoms of things like this. If anyone is bored and wants to take a look, that would be much appreciated.

Actually the tray sits on rails at the top of the console opening.
