me too - it's paid for itsself multiple times

and for the people stating "just dont speed" - i have mine not for going 85 in a 65, but for going 45 in a 35 etc. when i come up to a reduced speed zone that is on a downhill with a cop sitting in a blindspot...or when you are driving around in a place that you dont know well that all the locals know to be speed traps - lots of spots in WV like this. that's where it has saved me. i dont ever go faster than 75 in a 65 and that is only for passing people. i usually set my cruise on 72 for road trips.

Haha radar detectors dont work unless the cop is sleeping. His radar has a much farther range than your jammer or detector.

i agree i use to use one till a cop got me without any warning i guess all they have to do is turn it on a boom the got ya and the cop seen the detector on my windshield and shook is head and laughed.

Folks that say jammers don't work must not believe that microwaves work or helicopters can fly... Ignorance is your right enjoy it. We have been testing and operating Blinders for years with great success.

I extensively tested a radar jammer and a detector against a lidar gun. The jammer worked to cut down the effective range of the lidar. Without the jammer, the lidar could retrieve a signal from the target vehicle at more than 1000 ft. With the jammer on, the lidar gun would only retrieve a signal from the target vehicle within about 100 ft. With the addition of the detector, the target vehicle should be able to reduce speed well before coming into range of the lidar gun.

On a different note, I purchased a Valentine One detector in March of this year. The thing worked as advertised for about five months. After that it would operate seemingly normally for about ten minutes then display an "E" error message and quit working. Sent it back to Valentine for repair and haven't gotten it back yet. Through the course of ownership, I have emailed and spoken on the telephone to Valentine One headquarters. They are not really big on customer service. They are very rude, ill mannered, and unwilling to listen. They are not at all willing to answer questions or give detailed information such as "What was broken?" If I had it all to do again, I'd go with Escort just to avoid the Valentine One people.

Wow, that's a good distance. That's about how far I normally would write my tickets. My estimation accuracy would drop off quickly the farther out the person was. I was most accurate at less than 150 feet.

I was not referring to visual estimate. We had a controlled environment. The lidar could detect a target much farther away than one could get an accurate visual estimate of speed. We chose 1000 ft just to make it easier for everyone involved.

I was referring to the futility of having a jammer that limited the range of the lidar to the range I can effectively estimate speeds. If I can't get a good estimate I cannot shoot the lidar.

In some states the radar/lidar is nothing more than confirmation, everything is based on the officer's estimation. The state I used to work streets on did not require a lidar/radar reading. Simply going through the certification course resulted in our estimation being valid in court.
