How to add automatic headlights

If you wish to ADD auto ON/OFF headlamps to your vehicle that did not come from the factory with that option, you may add it yourself.

The Sensor Switch
TascaParts.com stocks the sentinel switch for your vechicle.
You either have ATC (automatic temperature control) or you don't. Select the sentinel switch for your A/C application.
The Headlamp Switch
You may or may not have factory installed fog lamps. It really does not matter. You can order the correct headlamp switch from the same vendor, TascaParts.com.
This applies to 2011 and 2012 Ford Trucks all models.

As mentioned previously, check the center dash for the two wire connector beneath the black plug BEFORE you order any parts. Base trim trucks such as WT (work truck) or XL series (without XL premium package) may NOT have the required sentinel wire installed from the factory. Check first, it is very easy to do.
For model years 2011 and newer, the auto headlamp function will need to be programmed (enabled) to function properly once the two parts are installed. It certainly helps to have a friend in the service department, however if you have any warranty work that needs to be done, you can mention that you need your auto-lamp feature enabled at that time. Most service departments will do it under warranty at the same time. If not, you will need to pay the standard fee to have the tech enable the option.
I paid to have the option enabled on my 2011 F250. After leaving my lights on and killing the batteries I looked into adding the parts. So it is up to you to determine if this option is worth the hassle to add and have it enabled.
Side note: If you install the parts and DO NOT have the option enabled, (2011 and newer) the headlights will come on when you start the vehicle, and go off when you stop engine while the switch is set to auto. That is how you know the option needs to be enabled on your vehicle.
