Dealer has truck up and running. Verified my complaint. Other trucks on lot do NOT do it. However, because Ford is saying its only an annoyance, and doesnt affect the reliabilty of the 'prooduct', they may not fix it. Dealer says FMC tightening their belts with warrnaty repairs. I remind you, 2010 Lariat Screw, 3500 miles. I didnt pay for an 'anoyance'

Below is list of Ford products I have owned. I am 34 years old. If they dont fix this, my question is: How many more Ford's do you think I'll buy in the NEXT 34 years? None of these had a shutter when slowing down.

These are what I remember....

1993 Ranger (Manual transmission)
1995 F150 Eddie Bauer (Auto V-8)
1995 F150 SVT Lightning
1996 Ranger Reg 4x4 Long Bed
1997 F150 4x4 Offorad package Reg Cab
1998 F150 S/Cab Offroad package
1999 Ranger S/Cab 4x4 Offorad package
2000 F150 S/Cab Offorad package
2000 F150 SVT Lightning
2001 F150 S/Crew 4x4 Offorad package
2002 Ranger FX4 S/Cab
2002 F150 SVT Lightning
2003 Ford Explorer Limitied AWD
2005 F150 STX S/Cab 4x4
2006 F150 FX4 S/Cab
2008 Expedition Limited
2010 F150 Lariat F150 S/Crew
CARS
2003 SVT Cobra 10th Anniversary
2003 SVT Cobra
2004 SVT Cobra
2006 Liconln Zephyr
2008 Lincoln MKZ

WOW!!! I can't believe they wont help you!! I just picked up a used 04 with 85K on the clock and I have a shudder too when downshifting at hwy speeds... Bought from carmax so they can decide to fix it or take the truck back because I have 4 more days to decide if I want to keep it!! LoL

As far as the bump... I had a previous ford 4x4 do this and it was the driveshaft/U_joint/slip yolk... They ended up having to replace it all...

Good luck to ya!

Just spoke to tech. Has call into hotline. Drove 3 - 2010 F150's this morning. All new. One out of three had a shutter like mine. Other 2, smooth as glass. Wait and see game now..... Been without it for over a week....

Tech is now driving the truck with some sort of microphone set up so he can tell the hotline which frequency this shutter occurs....

Any update on this? I have 2010 Expedition that does this. I have attributed it to getting used to the new 6 speed tranny vs my th 4 speed tranny in my old 05. I notice it more in the lowest gear around 10-15 mph.

Took mine in last week for the shutter and got it to do it many times while the shop foreman rode with me to verify it was doing it. He called the Ford hotline and they told him to order and replace the torque converter. So, this week when it comes in I have to take in my truck to have it done and i will post rather it fixed the shutter or not. Ford is aware of the issue...
The shutter occures at speeds of 30-40 mph with a light push on the gas pedal, expecially going up inclined but it does it even on level ground. It will shake like heck. Three cheers to ford

Weird. I dont have any tranny issues like that, but I do have almost like a tranny skip... 2nd gear on and incline. Probably close to 30-40mph. I can almost diagnose it like, having one bad link on a bicycle chain, end every time you get to it you feel a slip or pop. maybe 1-2 full seconds apart. Anyone have anything like that?

My dealer said its from my larger tires

My 2010 has this shutter 50-60 km feels like your going over a bunch of tiny speed bumps.I read a bit other places and a lot say it got worse after a ecu flash hope it gets resolved i have not even mentioned it to them yet have a lot of warranty left and am hoping for a recall.FORD

on my 09 plat i also had the usual issues as everyone else.

I had the tcm flashed 2x. still shudder, still had the very hard down shifts. or california roll through a yeild and then give it gas and it felt like someone hit me going 20mph

I threw on some 285,60,20 goodyear wrangler silent armor's and installed 5100s all the way around. after that edge CTS.

truck does ride a bit rougher. with 10ply tires and stiffing up the front springs when i leveled it. but its a truck. and it finally handles like one.

shifting , acceleration, down shifting is all where it should be . i have the edge set at level 3. programed tire size. lowered red line. and top speed. that is all i touched from canned tune.

however - when i am accelerating , light throttle. the torque converter seems to lock up a bit early? i believe there is a tsb for this . dont realy think its a huge issue as im not taking it to the track.

i would however like to be able to fully - fisable the rsc and traction controll.

went down to a buddys shop the other night. almost got stuck. as soon as i would get enough speed , a little more spin than the truck likes. stopped dead in my tracks.

i kenw there would be reasons i would think back to my 99 xlt. wish i still had it.

everyone have a good weekend.

Luckily my 2010 fx4 screw runs smooth with none of these problems. My wife's 2010 escape however had that issue, usually after first being started, it felt kind of like a rough shift. The dealer actually told me "it had a truck transmission and should feel that way". I had them reflash it and its better, but not gone.
