Had to get out remove it. Couldn't see a thing and vehicles had to go around me. Is that Fords fault? No, it was my fault for not removing all the snow. Kind of pissed my at first, but realized I didn't go far enough. Weather, you can't change just have to deal with it.
Just as a follow-up explanation to my earlier post:

I do remove any snow from my rear window before driving.

But as soon as you begin to drive, snow from somewhere (be it in the bed or from under truck on the ground I don't know), comes billowing up and covers the rear window with a fine sheen of snow again.

This happens pretty much constantly while driving if there is any fresh snow on the road. Rear defrost would solve this problem. {This does not happen if there is just old packed snow, or removed-from-roadways snow, from previous snowfall} Has nothing to do with not cleaning the rear window first, because I always do. Also has nothing to do with snow on the roof (I know you didn't say that was part of my issue), that stuff just falls forward onto hood/backward into bed as I drive, no problems there.

Since 1996 this has been an issue with my F-150 trucks. So it's not an individual issue with just my truck. Basically it sucks without rear defrost while driving in fresh snowfall, and/or currently falling snow. Would be nice to have a clear, unobstructed view in rear window on these dangerous driving condition days.

(although I suppose those awful 2010 rear seat headrests could be considered dangers to unobstructed rear views. Remove one issue on the 2010 w/rear defrost, replace it same year with too-large rear headrests)

I guess the rear headrest's are removeable if you dont have any back seat passengers and you could just pop them in when you do. At least thats what I'm going to do ( not on my 09 but on my 2010 when it comes in next week.

Eric, you should check into getting the '09 rear headrests for your 2010...wonder what Fords wants for a new set? That's what I'd do if I had a 2010 rather than my '09. Speaking of which, good luck with your 2010 - GREAT trucks - I'm really enjoying my '09 Plat
