Anyone notice that.....
Hye Comet, the rear slider is pretty cool when you are driving with sunroof open - having the rear slider open about 1/3 really cuts down on the sunroof buffetting and you get a nice flowthrough breeze - more or less depending on how far open the rear slider is...just don't forget it's open come wash time...I know this from personal experience

I know Barritia has mentioned the rear-view cam, but that's only for backing up. And besides, who knows how it'll work in the winter, perhaps it'll be all snowed up, or perhaps frosted up due to the cold so it's like looking thru a frosted window. No idea yet... just worried about bad driver's around me, everyone forgets how to drive in the snow each year.

Washing while the window is open... yikes! I left my driver window open once at night when it rained, that sucked. I think that was my '97 though, didn't have it but a year.
I think i know why Ford did the roofs the way they did. Those rain gutters on the earlier gens up til 97HD's rotted like an SOB. I can live with out those foolish gutters and thier rotting parts. We are lucky guys... I bet some of us would have part of the roof rooting where the gutter meets the actual roof.
Has anyone tried/considered an AVS Sunflector?

If you have a moonroof, that back slider is the perfect compliment to it, especially when it's a power-sliding glass. You get a reverse flow from behind the cab that blows on the back of your neck and out of the moonroof. I wouldn't trade it for the world, and the rear-view camera rarely ices up.
Hey people, I have the slider rear with defrost. This is such a great truck and that is the least of my concerns. Only takes me a few minutes to clean it. The only problem I had after two or three foot of wet snow, did my best to get as much as I could off the roof. First time I hit brakes all that snow completely covered my windshield. Had to get out remove it. Couldn't see a thing and vehicles had to go around me. Is that Fords fault? No, it was my fault for not removing all the snow. Kind of pissed my at first, but realized I didn't go far enough. Weather, you can't change just have to deal with it.
I have never seen a factory Ford rear window with the sliding glass. I'm not saying it isn't possible because I don't know for sure, but I doubt you have one. You may have the button the dash for the mirror defrosters, but unless you have the telltale lines across the glass, then you don't have window defrost.
Just channel it along the top and it can run out either side where the window ends.

Every truck I've owned has done this. Not sure much can be done. Why not clean it really well and use some rain-x? I can say that I am a wash my truck once every month or three kinda guy and the water spots come right off. Are you using a good, high quality wash mit and soap? Soap makes a HUGE difference. At a minimum in a pinch I'll use the Maguires Gold Class.
