Why not use REAL snow tires? They will give much better traction than those will. Tread design of an all season tire may work a bit better for snow, but won't do anything for hardpack or ice. For that you need a softer tire.

I don't know how much better they can get. Anyone that I know that uses Grabber AT2's up here rarely ever has to use 4 wheel drive. Also because our weather is so unpredictable the AT tire will hold up better when we put them on early or leave them on later after winter.
Funny enough, up here the snow plows run these or BFG AT's. I am yet to see a snow plow with snow tires on it.

From what you are saying I guess the severe weather rating means nothing?

What a difference! I really like that truck with those wheels. Looks like even your neighbor put winter wheels on his\her Escape?

That's too funny. It stuck out to me since my wife and I have the same exact looking Ford Escape (color and everything). We don't get all that much snow in MD anymore, but I would have never considered putting on winter wheels over the stocker's. I can totally understand it for your aftermarket wheels, though.

Actually the winter wheels are the stock 18" FX4 rims. The summer wheels are 08 Harley F150 wheels that I bought off of ebay.

I have General Grabbers AT on my truck and they're great. We had a few BAD days last year and I only had to put it in 4 wheel drive once to get up a hill because I was startin to spin. I've had them on since last March and they've held up REALLY well. They'll deffinetly be my next set of tires.

General Grabber AT2's are severe weather rated and are pinnned for stud's, they would make a great choice for a winter tire, I was thinking about getting them my self.

Oh, I meant the Escape next door. Looks like he has separate Winter wheels to replace his stock wheels, which I assume he uses in the Summer. I was just surprised that someone would get winter wheels to run rather then just running their stocker's year round.

Either way, your truck still looks bad **** with the stock FX4 wheels for winter.

Most folks around here run two sets of rims now. It is easier than getting the dealer or tire shop to switch to the winter tires.
Thanks for the compliments on the truck.

Just bought a 2010 XLT 4X2 SCREW. The salesman said I wouldn't need snow's in southern Ontario, outside the snow belt, just put some weight in the box. Is that the consensus or do most F150 drivers in this latitude put on snows?
I did finally buy snows for my 10 year old Safari last winter.
