Been looking all over for Halo with projection headlights. only find units that fit up to 2008. anyone know of a vendor with lights for a 2009 F150?

Those actually don't look too bad. I wouldn't mind putting a set of real projectors in there. Maybe some Acura TL bixenons like I had in my super duty.

those lights look nice but it would be way better to have the small led's on the front rather than the side kind of like the audi's have.. does anyone know if they will make another black ccfl model for the 2010 f150

I'm interested in hearing about your projector retrofit experience on your Super Duty if you're willing to share. I'm looking at doing it on my FX4 and would love to hear from people that have already been through the experience.

 

Nice to see some people care about putting "legal" and safe HIDs in trucks. I did an FX projector retro into my Ranger. I just find it so weird that sooo many people love blue glare...it is beyond me.

 

IMO, if people could buy a retrofit projector setup for the same price as they paid for their blue glare, a lot more people would go with the former option. Over the past few years I've gained a respect for HID setups that don't blind oncoming traffic because I've lived outside the US in a country where there's virtually no control over what kind of lights you run. The popular thing to do is drive with your parking lights and fogs on, and most people are running 8000K's for the fogs and have them aimed up...it's downright dangerous.

I'm trying to find a retrofit projector setup that's somewhat affordable, so I figure if I talk to enough people I may run into someone that knows whom to suggest for the work. I'm not interested in doing the work myself as I work over 90 hours a week as it is.

 

Go to ford-trucks.com and search the super duty section. I just copied what two others did. Basically baked my headlights
to melt the glue to seperate them, cut a projector sized hole in my stock reflectors, painted the reflectors black to minimize glare, and mounted the projectors. I used a dremel to do the cutting. Hidplanet.com
has a bunch of info including wiring diagrams. I would
suggest buying an extra set of headlights. It takes a while
to get the aim right. Let me know when you get started and I can provide
some more specifics.

 

Refreshing isn't it? To me the coolest thing about hids is the cutoff. Without the cutoff they are just some bright lights. Lame. I plan on getting around to doing the same mod on my new truck but it is hard to cut into your new
truck.

I know it's the "manly" thing to do this work yourself, but I'm well-aware that I don't have the time, skill, or patience to do this mod myself. I want it done right, and I'm willing to pay for that. If all goes well, I'll have it installed in a couple months. Can't wait to share pics with the forum. :-)
