Sounds awesome guys. Possible to just clamp on a magnaflow or flowmaster muffler? I need to keep the cost down and can't spend 500+

It's a great price Langford, but if I could get away with a $100 magnaflow muffler or similar flowmaster I would be satisfied. Which muffler comes with your kit?

On my '06 Lariat I did exactly that and was very, very happy. I also went with the next size up from the 18". Gave me great low end and NO DRONE. That coupled with my K&N really woke up that truck. I just bought the muffler and the stainless tip which the shop welded on the stock pipe. I think I was out the door with everything for like $180.

Personally I am a little aprehensive about doing any of it to my '09, and I think it is because of the shift points on the new 6spd and the rpm's under certain use conditions.

I also like the fact that the '09 came stock with at least some exhaust note that my '06 totally lacked (it had none).

I only wish Ford could make the exterior sound with the stock system sound as good as it does on my '07 Suburban.

Anyway....if I do anything this time, I will just buy the muffler and let my local shop do the bends. I really like dual exit behind the wheels bent toward the ground. That way when you get on it from take off you stir a little dust as well.

Well call me cheap but I cut off my muffler today and welded in a piece of ss pipe and welded a ss tip on for $75.00in parts.I do have access to a lift and welder though.I didn't know if it was gonna be obnoxious but I was pleasantly suprised at how good it sounds.

Edit: Also, just to clarify, it doesn't drone all the time, just during a certain thottle position and rpm. Example: Going down the hwy at 65mph and slightly accelerating it drones.....or slight throttle increase while going up a hill will make it drone. Not to be confused with a flowmaster 40 series drone in a mustang GT which drones all the time at almost any speed.
LOL...mrpt - I had the Series 40 on a 2000 Mustang GT vert and it lasted all of one week before I replaced it with the Magnaflow. That was one wicked sounding exhaust but you had to yell to be heard by your front seat passenger...too funny and you are correct...my '05 Lariat Magnaflow exhaust didn't drone anything near what the Flowmaster Series 40's did

I decided the factory pipe should flow well enough. I purchased a 6"x18" round stainless Magnaflow muffler and a polished Magnaflow 3.5" tip. The local muffler shop installed both. Total cost was around $200.00
