We may have an issue. They new parts look different. Size-wise, they match up, but on the driver's door, they currently end at the edge of the door. The ones I was sent look like they actually wrap around the edge of the door. I need to call Tasca tomorrow to again confirm that these will actually fit my truck.

You know, you are right about that.. That is one thing I noticed comparing them to my 06. The ones on my 06 wrap around the door edge and the ones were my 09 just end, you can almost cut you finger on the sharp edge of it.

Message from Tasca:

it appears we sent you the wrong parts the correct part number is 6L3Z1520554AA price 25.98 6L3Z1520555AA price 25.98 we are also going to refund you 29.62 and send you a return label i am sorry for this mix up.

I told them it was no problem and am having them confirm that the new parts are the glossies and that the rear door parts I was sent are okay as well. Will keep you posted.

Good job on getting the correct parts. When you peel the old trim pieces off the double sided tape Ford uses (at least on my '05) was REALLY tough to get off. I first tried prying the trim piece off with my hands and it actually bent rather than peel off Plus there are sharp edges, I ended up getting a box cutter and prying up the trim piece just enough to get under there and cut the tape right through the middle (it's approx 1/4" thick foam double sided tape). Wonder why Ford couldn't use that stuff to secure our headliners Guess if they ever had to remove the headliner it might destroy it

Good luck - it's worth it will really improve the looks of your truck!! I, for one, am really glad my Platinum came with them to begin with

Another tip, the door beltline trim piece (starts under the mirror and runs back along the door to the b piller), IIRC, you shouldn't have to remove it to replace the b pillar trim pieces...they just tuck behind it. If you try and pull up on the belt line moulding piece on the b pillar trim end, it will break the retaining clip. It's one of this plastic clips that once in the only way out is to break it off.

hmmm...well, if I break off that clip, I'll just use their double-sided tape to hold it down.

You might not want to post up e-mails here on the forums. I know some of the moderators feel that e-mails are private communication, and not fit for public forums. Just a heads up.

I've been thinking of doing this with my '05.

I know what you're saying (I saw that thread. )

They're really not e-mails...also, I'm just passing on the part numbers and showing how Tasca is making things right.

Well, the new ones came today. 2 glossy, 2 not glossy. The non-glossy ones were just shoved (without boxes) in between the two glossy boxed ones.

The 2 new glossy ones that are supposedly for my truck look exactly like the ones I had to return...they have the edge that looks like they'd wrap around the driver's door. I don't understand why this is so difficult.

*sigh*

Have you thought about just having yours sanded and painted? It might be less hassle.

Not a bad idea. I'll give that consideration after strike 3.
