Everyone's different, but personally I'd always go for the Lariat. More luxury, that's what I like. But if you notice, there are a LOT of people on these boards who love the FX4. I'm guessing they are more than likely guys who actually do some off-roading and whatnot with their trucks, hence the FX4 is a better option for them. I stick to roads and avoid anything that might potentially damage my truck/paint so the Platinum is my choice; although I will roll up and over some curbs when I get tired of waiting for people to step on the darn gas pedal and move already. Nice to have that option.

BTW, a Platinum drove by me today, same exact color and everything as mine. It's a sad day, I'm not the only one anymore. ... ... ... Boy was it beautiful!

Should have gone with the Brilliant Silver Metallic JK - but I haven't seen a Platinum yet around here in the same silver!!

The Platinum F-150 is simply the replacement for the Lincoln Mark LT which has been discontinued here in the states... add a moon roof and Nav and it's Fords ultra-luxurious truck basically... a little over the top really... but I LOVE MINE!!

just thought I mention that Nissan has a Platinum model too for their Armada SUV. I just saw one the other day. Everyone is jumping on the Platinum bandwagon.
