2010 F-150 Cooling System

Has anyone confirmed that the '10 model is using e fans vs the electric clutch drive unit on the 07 to 09 expedition and 09 F-150? I noticed the '10 model has a second spoiler under the truck in the front to push air up or down. If they do have e fans can you please post up some pics of the setup?

Thanks

If that is the verifiable case I guess it's time to go to the super duty. It also explains why there is the additional spoiler under the front lower air dam to jam more air in to make up for a lack of CFM in electric fans VS mechanical. I'm wondering how this will work, many other manufactures have tried this and it hasn't worked out as well as they planned, I hope ford's better at it then the others. Hydraulic fans are the only fans I've seen that have been able to match that of a mechanical fan without overheating issues or pulling more power then the engine driven fan.

you really think for would make the change to electric fans not knowing they can't cool the system, and Ford isn't other manufactures.

you have nothing to worry about.

Yes, in theory, but I doubt you'll see anything great. It should also improve throttle response as there is less drag. Engine braking will also be reduced.

You hit the nail on the head with that last line. I won't I'll be looking at the F-250/350 line now, efans are for cars not vehicles that work for a living.

as long as you buy Ford what do i care.

its just my opinion but if you don't buy a F150 because you don't think the electric fans will not work well enough, that just seems stupid to me.

I met a guy the other day with a 09 down the road from my bro in law and he got a 09 and had the same trouble as you. He didnt want the Nav unit so they done him a deal and knocked $1000 of the price of the nav unit. He said he was stupid not to go for it then as he was going to change out the head unit for a touch screen system anyway. Just tell them you will have the truck if you can come to a deal as you dont really want the Sun roof or Nav.

2009 max tow is down about 500 pounds of payload compared to 2010.

I was at a Ag show and Ford had their big display set-up with a cut away F150 Platinum. I noticed the extra spoiler and thought that was odd given the cutaways were 09s, why make new 2010 cutaway models? So I ask the Ford rep on hand and he insists it's an 09. But I insist the 09s didn't have e fans... Well he says that truck didn't have a 5.4L... it was a 6.2L and sure enough I go look and its a 6.2L(with dual e fan set-up) I advise him I was going to pull it out and place it in my 04 and he says no its going in his 07 when he gets back to Texas... What a tease!
