Where is the 6" in the new SuperCrew?

I have an '02 SuperCrew. It does not have good rear seat legroom. I am 6'-4" and my definition of good legroom is if I could sit comfortably behind myself.

The new SuperCrew is said to be 6" longer. Where exactly is this extra 6"? Could two 6'-4" people sit comfortably one in front of the other? If you post a reply, I would also be curious if you are able to garage your new SCrew or have to park it outside due to your bed length choice.

Thanks.

I'm 6'3" tall. I got the SCrew with the 6.5' bed.

I have absolutely no problem sitting in the rear seats, the amount of space back there is mind-boggling. You can easily seat two grown adults (front and back) without any discomfort.

I am able to park my truck in the garage nightly, but I do use a hanging tennis ball to make sure I stop when I'm within an inch of the front wall or the garage door will hit the bumper. I can give you exact measurements if you want them. Its a close call with the longer bed, but I think its worth it.

They made the front doors 6 inches longer for improved visibility over the 04-08 models. So there is 6" more between the front and rear seats. My backseat is huge, I can completely stretch out in the front and leave room for rear seat passengers and dogs.

My 09 is here next week and one other big back seat improvement. When you flip the back seat bottoms up the floor is absolutely flat. For my use that's a big plus as well.

With the rear sit flipped up out of the way, I think I can haul almost as much stuff inside as I can in the bed. As mentioned, the back is huge. The flat floor rocks!

I came from an 02 supercrew too and I'm 6'1". As stated the back is night and day larger than the 02. You will be satisfied. I also got the 6' bed option and park it in my garage. My garage is 26' deep, but I still have to watch due to my work bench and wanting to be able to walk behind the truck, barely, once parked. The flat floor in the rear is also a great bonus. I used to carry stuff in the rear of my 02 and it always annoyed me how the seats folded down and what little room there actually was. No worries now.

They did it for assembly line simplicity, on the 04-08 trucks there were 5 different doors available for just 3 cab configurations, now they have 3 doors available for 3 cab configurations.

But yes the cab is 6" long due to longer front doors being fitted. Also they have the flat cab floor (no driveshaft/trans tunnel)

NO rear doors the same.

Remember the 04-08 SuperCAB had the longer front doors...
