New truck, wierd problem

Anyone know about this before I call my dealer and look dumb?
My brand new 09's window sticker says 5.4L ffv but at my first stop at the pumps today the gas cap(or whatever you call it) has the no-E85 logo on it?
Anyone?.......

Do you have a yellow (plastic) ring around your gas filler inlet? If you have a FFV 5.4, it should be that way.

(Aren't all 5.4's now FF capable?)

Exclamation Fill 'er up!

No, for all 2010 F-150's they have done away with the yellow ring around the fill nozel. Only 2009 F-150's will have the yellow E85 ring.

If you have a 2010 F-150, fill 'er up, you're all set, no worries.

EDIT: You say you have a 2009? No idea why it's not on there, strange... Did you buy it off the lot? Perhaps a guy bought a 2010 and wanted it on his, so the dealer popped it off "yours" and popped it on the other truck.

I bought it off the lot. Like I said the window sticker says 5.4L FFV but the fuel filler says No E85. There is no badge on the tailgate either.
Dealer says he doesn't know why that is and that I can't get a 5.4 without FFV and says it should be fine. I asked him if I fill it with E85 will they fix it? He said "don't do that". So either way I didn't get a straight answer.
He said he'd research it and call me but haven't heard from him as of yet. I did tell him that I bought it because it says FFV on the window sticker. We'll see what happens....

I had thought that all the '09 5.4's were the FFV's? Just double checked mine and sure enough I do have the yellow ring around the fuel filler neck.

another day, checked with the dealer and still can't get an answer. You'ld think someone there would know just WTF they're doing. Quote "This is wierd, we think it's FFV, maybe the ring is wrong on the tank filler". They said all of the 09's 5.4's are FFV and you can't get them any other way. I again offered to just go ahead and fill it up with E85 and of course was told "Don't do that". I offered to bring the truck back and have them look at it but that doesn't seem to be an option or a concern. Getting to thinkg they're just glad they made a sale and don't really care about the follow up.
I'd been a Chevy guy for the last 20 years and this is my first Ford truck since 1987. I just love the truck but now I'm having some doubts if I made the right decision.
Hey, thanks for letting me vent y'al

My 09 is a Flex fuel. Has the yellow ring on the fuel filler neck. However it does not have the badge on the lower right corner of the tailgate. The window sticker does say flex fuel.

I went out and popped the yellow ring off of the fill neck. Does your fill neck have three little ears on it. They were at the 10 o clock, 2 o clock and 6 o clock positions? Like said maybe the ring got taken off.

The Flex Fuel badge on the rear is new for 2010, at least that's what I noticed at my dealer.

Look at emission sticker on inside of hood. It will say FFV Gas/Ethanol. If not, then its not.

Ronfx4 I looked under the hood and it does say FFV Gas/Ethanol
Fuerte150 I sent you my vin.
The ring around the fuel filler cap is black with the no E-85 logo on it (the circle with slash and E85)
I guess I'm just dumbfounded that my dealer can't tell me either way what it is. They still advise me not to put E85 in it but can't tell me for sure if it is or isn't.

It isn't too unusual to get more accurate information on this site than at the dealer. I have had to make them aware of problems and fixes for my truck when they seemed to have no knowledge of it at all.
