Saw some 2010s...

Went to our local dealership here in Austin, saw some 2010s on the lot. The brakes are a fairly different design than the 2009s. I am fairly sure that the front brakes have floating discs. If not, they sure look like it. The switches on the Platinum's console are for the "mood lighting" that is now standard. I believe one is to change the color of the lights and one is the dimmer. Other than the brakes, the trucks seem remarkably the same. I totally forgot to glance to see if the power sliding rear window with defrost slides completely down or if it is just the middle third like the 09s. I guess I will need to drive back by there to check that one. I assume that the floating front discs will either completely eliminate any front brake chatter (not sure who else but me has this when braking from high speeds) or greatly reduce it. My 05, 08, and now 09 have all had a slight brake chatter when braking from high speeds. I bet that's not there any more for 2010.

I only have 500 miles on mine so far but havent noticed any chatter yet. What I do notice is a huge amount of brake dust. I will look into getting new pads before I put my new rims on.
Hopefully Ford made some improvements on the brakes all around.

Forgot to mention that... the sales guy, for what it's worth... said they upgraded to ceramic pads for 2010.

It seriously took them that long to get rid of the garbage brake pads the trucks were coming with? They've had that problem since 2004! At least they finally figured it out.

I apologize for no pics. Basically the 2010 looked IDENTICAL to the 2009. not really worth pics... not like I toted the camera around the place though. There were 2 XLTs, one tuxedo black, one white, and one pearlish platinum. Visibly the XLT has a new grille, it has 8 or 9 horizontal bars... the sales guy called it billet, but it wasn't. The floating discs were the coolest thing to see.

Not Maxwell, these were unloaded from the trucks today at Covert Ford in North Austin.

Maxwell blows ***, worst dealership. They totally screwed me on the financing and when I confronted them they totally blew me off. I have a complaint in with Ford corporate about it.

Go to Covert if you need a Ford.
