Contemplating downsizing to 17's

I am debating if I should go from my 18's to 17's since there are such a better selection of tires and pricing... Just don't want to have too tiny of a rim on such a big truck... Hmm.

What are your thoughts on 17's on our trucks?

That's what I have on mine, and prefer them to 18's. Absolutely refuse to go larger than 18" myself. Don't like the looks of big wheel, little tire. If you want to see the OE 17", look in my gallery.

Change your wheels because you want to change the style of rim. Very few people (on the street, not on a forum) could tell the difference of 1" rim diameter.

It all depends on the overall size of the tire you are going to end up with and the wheel choice you want. Also, look at the cost difference and see if it is enough to downsize.

I agree on the smaller rim 18" vs. 20" ..I struggled with the decision but after seeing a few w 20" ......the smaller rim with more tire looks better IMO.....there is a blue fx4 on this site with 17" and it looks good search for it!!

According to Ford, 17" wheels allow for 500 lbs more of towing and hauling. Check out mine. They will look great with the right size tires...

That's practically irrelevant as almost every F-150 runs out of payload (GVWR) well before the GCWR and tow rating.
