Vehicle Security Choices Help Me Choose

Hey guys,

I don't want an aftermarket alarm I only want to go with either the Ford factory alarm or the factory alarm/remote start system.

Please help me make up my darn mind.

Option 1:
For the factory alarm alone it cost $123.85 (self installed)

Option 2:
For the factory remote start with alarm it costs $248.56 (self installed)

I am not sure how often I would use the remote start but it is kind of a cool feature.

Since you said explicitly, why not aftermarket? I say get remote start, my 5901 was about the same price as your option 2.

I use my remote start maybe 3-4 times a day here just to cool the cab down before i get in the truck. But i have a 5901 also. But i can open and close all my windows, Remote start, Tilt sensor, shock sensor, Glass break sensor and soon i am going to get the taigate module to open the tailgate. If you are going to be fitting them your self then the 5901 aint going to cost you hardly anymore. Mine cost about $1200 but i have lifetime warrenty because a viper dealer fitted it. Plus if you mess up your truck it's there problem and not yours.

I had a Viper 5002 2 way alarm on my last truck and didn't like how the key fob would sometimes not work. I also want to keep it stock appearing.

Does anyone know if the factory gold remote start alarm comes with any other stuff like hood pin etc?

yeah it has hood switch and that's about it. It does have a shock sensor that chirps for light bumps to the car, or goes off when it's hit hard. The shock sensitivity is adjustable. The alarm will also go off if someone opens a door.
