I have never used one myself as there was no need. You also need to be careful as it might give a dealer an excuse to say your warranty is void. It has been discussed on this forum but since I have no plans to use one I did not pay much attention to the posts.

It only says for the 04 to 08's

15 to 15.4 MPG, 99% city.

3.55 LS Screw 4x4 5.4V8, average between 15.0 - 15.4, 99% city driving.

Needless to say, have been excited about the ecoboost rumors since before the '09 came out, was sad it didn't launch with it. If the stock market rallies back, maybe by 2011 I'll trade her for an ecoboost w/rear slider defrost! Maybe they'll even have upfitter switches by then! Woo-hoo! Then again, I'll most likely keep my girl until the next remodel. By 2016 the govt. is looking for around 30mpg average for trucks. Ha! let's see them get anywhere near that.

You guys need to post up whether your truck is 2wd or 4wd, makes a big difference. Also if its lifted and has oversized tires

20 mpg average

Have been averaging 20 mpg since I got the truck. Odometer registered as high as 20.4 on a 1200 mile round trip. Drive 50mi/day highway & some city.

Have stock 17" tires, Bakflip G2 tonneau, K&N drop in and is 5.4 w/ 3.55 4WD. Supposed to get 3-6" snow tomorrow so curious to see how truck performs.

3.55 LS 4x4 SCrew: 12.5 City and 17-19 highway. These are real calculations, not what the truck says. My truck almost always says 15.6.

As the man said earlier, it is all in the right foot. $2.20 gas hasn't slowed me down. $3.20, will, maybe.

According to the computer, I've been getting 16 avg. city and highway. I haven't calculated it myself yet. I have about 2000 miles on the truck and it's a 4x4 King Ranch. So I think I'm doing pretty good so far.

Mine was going by the truck itself also, have never calculated it by hand and never will. Here's to hoping the ecoboost actually makes a decent difference in MPG.

Actually that 30mpg as posted by CAFE is supposed to be that all manufacturers must have a fleet average of 30 or higher. Meaning combining the Mustang, Taurus, F-150 etc all must be over 30. Its not just for one vehicle.

President Barack Obama announced plans on Tuesday for a national fuel-economy and greenhouse-gas standard that would significantly increase mileage requirements for cars and trucks by 2016.

Obama called it “an historic agreement to help America break its dependence on oil, reduce harmful pollution and begin the transition to a clean energy economy.”

The new requirements mark the first time there has been a nationwide standard for emissions of greenhouse gases. They require an average mileage standard of 39 miles per gallon for cars and 30 mpg for trucks by 2016 – a jump from the current average for all vehicles of 25 miles per gallon.
