Anyone done a Code Alarm Remote Start ?

I've been looking at alarms for my '09. I really like the Viper 5901, but having issues getting a decent price. One authorized dealer here wanted over a grand to purchase and install. From what I have read here, I would be getting screeeeeewed. So, I went to another shop who sells Code Alarm. They qouted me $500 for front window tint and a CA671 installed. I know I am talking apples and oranges here. What I really need to know is has anyone used the CA671 on an '09? I like the fact that the keyless pad can be used to arm / disarm. I use mine often. Thanks.

Try Travis at KC Autosound: http://www.kcautosound.com/home.php He does pre-wiring for his alarms and has great directions to do it yourself. Prolly save yourself a bit of money.

Link to the ca671 alarm at KC Autosound.

X3...Travis sells the Code-Alarm systems and a few others. I was going to go with the Code-Alarm but they were on backorder at the time.

I went with a Python P991 from Travis which is the same as the Viper and made by the same company. The range is unbelievable on it, but I don't think it will work with the keypad.

It shouldn't be bad at all - but if you run into a snafu, Travis is only a phone call away.

Thumbs down

After my experience with Code Alarm on my SRT-9000, fawk em. They have the worst customer service ever, hands down. I've owned it for 6 months now, with it only being installed and functional on the truck for maybe 3 months. Guess where it was for the other 3 months? Just got it back this weekend.

Installing wasn't too bad. Travis did the pre-wiring and instructions. Great service from him. Wish I could say the same about Code.

Another bump for Travis, I got my CA-670 from him and with the pre-wiring install was a breeze. Took me 3 hours and I'm no expert at all

I purchased the CA-671 with remote start from Travis. His directions were great and he always answered any questions I had. It saved me some money compared to what I would have paid to have someone install it for me and I have had no problems with the alarm.

Are you opposed to doing it yourself? If you want to install it I just got my Viper 5901 installed on Monday by a buddy who is quicker at it than I am. I paid $239.00 for the alarm and $44.50 for the bypass for PATS and found a $15 coupon for a total of $268.50 shipped fairly slowly but supposedly they will warranty it for 3 years from dealer cost audio. I like supporting the local shop and such but the same situation, either way too much money or super sketch places. If I were doing it myself without any help from a guy who had done alarms for years I would definitely buy ti from Travis at KCAutosound, he comes highly recommended and very decently priced for his service everyone speaks of.

Thumbs up Alarm and installation

I own an 05 F-350 Diesel and I have the CA671. I bought mine from Electronic Bonanza on-line and had it installed at Best Buy for $220 labor. Total cost $340. Best Buy has a lifetime installation waranty and Code Alarm has a Lifetime Product Waranty. I tried a cheaper installer initially and was so disapointed. I have been a code alarm fan since 1987.

Wish you luck

You are lucky you got anything good from Travis.

I had the same SRT-9000 installed in my Expedition. It is the biggest piece of junk. Travis is no better. He installed this thing. It was his first install with this pos so I understand it took a little longer.

It has never worked from day 1.

I have made many attempts to get Travis to fix it.
ALL I GET IS EXCUSES. He is going out of town and will call me next week. (Never does)
Last conversdation he told me they had problems with the SRT-9000 and he would replace it. Never Did. Does not return my calls.

Stay away from Code Alarm. Stay away from Travis or you will be sorry.
