Trade In Value

I am looking to trade in my 2004 XLT 4x4 for a new 2009. Any idea on trade in value that dealers will give me right now. My truck is in good condition w/ only 55K miles on it. It's the 5.4 engine 4 wheel drive.
Also, is Ford offereing 0% for 60 months on the F150's.

thanks

I traded a 06 Lariat 4x4 Screw with 30k and the dealer gave me $21k in the Dallas area. My brother traded an almost identical truck to mine with 55k miles on it and got $20k for trade. I think used F150s in good condition are doing pretty good right now on trade so don't let a dealer low ball you.

I just Kelly Blue Booked it, and they said 12,975. A lot of dealerships will use KBB or similar companies for estimates...so i guess your looking at 12-14. That's my .02

Dealers use Black Book and auctions to determine the price of used cars. If KBB says $12,975 the dealer will probably hit around $11k.

It's all a number game, they will either give you more for your trade, or take more off the sticker price of the new truck.

For my situation, KBB said $13,300 excellent trade-in value for my 2004 FX4 with 34k miles. My dealer gave me $16,300 on trade-in, but then I only got $6900 off sticker on my new 09 truck. My old truck was in mint condition and didn't even last a week on their lot before it was sold.

Other people report up to $10k off sticker on their new 09 truck, but they only get actual KBB value or less for their trade.

From what I here, now is the time to trade in your trucks and SUV's. It's a supply and demand thing and big vehicles appear to be in short supply.

That's what I'm hearing also. Trade in values have supposedly increased in the last few months.

I was able to get a total of $11K off the sticker of mine, and that was using a 98 F150 XLT Scab as a trade in. Right now really is the time t deal.

www.edmunds.com and www.kbb.com. Look for dealer trade in values with your equipment and use the fair to good ratings for reasonably accurate value.

I've never traded in a vehicle.
I keep them so long they're not anything a dealer would want on his lot so I figure I can do better selling privately than trade.

Concur...my '05 Lariat 4x4 was $18K via KBB (trade in value) and that's what the dealer gave me...right now used f-150's in good shape seem to be coming in at or very near KBB. Generally, a dealer will try and come in a couple of grand below KBB but times are different now with the economy slow more folks are looking for used vehicles...
