Anybody ever LOSE an ordered truck?

Was calling ford to see if they would honor previous incentives. While on the phone I had them check the status of my truck.

Truck was ordered and supposed to be delivered to redondo beach/hawthorne CA to my dealership on 6/15.

Truck is now scheduled to go to Lake Charles LA first week of july. My panties are now in a serious wad and I dont wear panties.....

Dealer is checking into this.

Anybody else run into this while ordering a truck?

Yep my truck was ment to be sent to virginia and it went to CA instead. I ended up getting a different truck and dealer and Ford told me lie after lie about where the truck was and this was 6 month after i ordered it but a helpful member on another forum helped me out big time and told me where the truck really was.

So you basically had to order another truck or did they find one? I need to find the ford employee forum again and get someone in Kansas City to run my VIN and tell me what is really happening.

Dealer is now telling me my truck wont be built until 6/15 last week that was the date for delivery.

Thanks for your reply.

Yep i had to get the dealer to find me another truck. Infact i had to find it because they was useless and i gave them the info and they sorted it out. They even messed that up and sold it to me and done all the paper work and the did not make sure that the dealer was def going to sell it to them and he didnt want to lol. But in the end he called back later that day and said they could have it.

This whole thing is wearing me out. I have already lost the ford advantage plan due to dealers dragging their feet. If I dont take delivery before 6/30 I will lose incentive money and the truck on paper will cost me 1500 more.

Now this and I am not confident in the information I am being told. Posted my VIN on a ford employee forum to see if a working person can get me the truth. If this gets delayed I am bailing as someone is expecting my FJ soon.

Like you I have been the one doing the bulk of the work on this deal and dont appreciate the BS from the dealer or ford. Dont want to buy a tundra but I need a truck in a timely manner.

i ordered a 2005 F250 a few years ago, it got 'lost', nobody could find it for a few days. it finally turned up in the system, had been pulled off the line at completion and selected for emissions testing. delayed it almost three weeks...then when it arrived, the dealership forgot to order my moonroof in it...

Please dont buy a Toyota, I like my job at Ford and need it very much. I wish I could help you out but I have no way of getting that sort of information for you, I could help you in another way if you need to buy another truck, I could help you out with an X plan pin. I know you wanted the incentives but it could also help you save some cash in the long run.

Let me know how it goes and PM me if you need that kind of help.

It's too bad your truck order went missing. Your dealer can't locate a truck with the same options using other dealer's inventories?

I do not want to buy a Tundra - my vehicle is sold - and I need a truck soon. I am one of those people who do not need or want a Screw and could not find an scab in a configuration that I wanted. It was also hard to find a dealer willing to search dealer inventories to the degree to find the truck I wanted. I was comfortable in the knowledge I had a truck on its way.

If this goes to crap I will gladly take you up on your offer and I might try once again to find another truck and screw the order. My incentives wont expire until the 30th of june so I still have time. Im having a hard time in who to believe - my dealer or the ford rep on the phone.

I posted my info on a ford employees forum but have no response as it appears nobody there is tracking VINs anymore.

Toyota was my second choice as I am not buying a GM or Dodge product. I want to buy Ford because 1 - I like them 2 - no bailout money taken 3 - no bankruptcy filing 4 - Ford is actually smart enough to stay in business when all others are blaming everyone else.

Thanks for your response/offer and I have not given up yet!

I am from Missouri and contracting in California. Maybe it was the dealers I tried to work with here in CA. I have told more than one dealer here I would buy the truck today if they can find/order the one that I want. That seemed to be too much for them to do or they did not believe me. I have dealt with four dealers here in the LA area.

None of them would do more than their regional search. I have spent hours on the ford website searching for one but grew tired of looking up zipcodes to expand my search. So I finally just ordered the truck I wanted. If I wanted a Screw it would be no problem finding one. I am one of those people who do not want or need an screw. And they ARE EVERYWHERE!!

Anyways - I havent given up yet!

It's the dealerswhips that are the downfall of the auto industries ... hands down! Their arrogance has skyrocketed over the years and showing no signs of getting any better!

I've heard of dealerships giving someone an est. delivery date, then getting the truck 2 weeks early, and putting it out on the floor for people to look at, test, buy, etc...

Heard one story, think it was on here, where a guy ordered a truck, was delivered before the date. Guy found out his truck was already at the dealership. By the time he was able to get over there, they had put it on the floor, and sold it.
