Its just common sense, look at it. Its a 04 - 08 style enhanced. Yes theres new engines and the cab is a little longer for the Supercrews and Ford really went all out for it but its generally the same features and a little more, with very similar style. Who does a single generation for only 4 years? Much too soon, Just my view of it.

You obviously haven't spent any time behind the wheel of the new 2009 F-150...my '09 Platinum is WORLDS ahead of my '05 Lariat...they don't even drive similar. Just about every driver interface has been improved and the 5.4 engine with the new 6 speed transmission is a pleasure to drive...much better engine response at all speeds...not "lethargic" off the line like my '05 5.4L was (I even added the Edge Evolution tuner to my '05 to help the acceleration and everyday drivablilty) and will NOT need it for the 2009. Even the exhaust note is throaty and sounds great...I wil NOT be needing an aftermarket exhaust either for the 2009....the seats, interior, load floor, cab - all have been majorly changed...no simple facelift my friend...the exterior styling changes are the least of it

Umm, no. The motor has significant changes as well, including open valve injection, 10 more ponies, plus extra HP and torque when burning E85. Plus the new 3-valve 4.6.

Oh, I guess the 2V 4.6 is the same.

I don't think this is supposed to be a 09 vs 04-08 thread, but the trucks are worlds apart. i have an 06 XLT Screw, and my boss has an 09 FX4 Screw with leather. And while i love my truck, my bosses' is better in every way.

I'm planning on getting an '11 4.4L Diesel Platinum edition

My Vin was not part of the recall but I tested how hard you need to press on the breaks before the lamps go on, and it seems to me like you have to press pretty hard to get them to light. Never tried it before so not sure what is normal, but I would have thought they would have lit up with very little pressure on the pedal.

Well I'm well aware of my many changes but I have only visually experienced one. Never test drove one cause I dont want to me a d**k wasting a salesman's time ( sales are very low in my area, the sellers pounce over to anyone that shows up in the show room ). And I would be afraid that I would hate my '04

What? The 4.6 motor is a complete redesign from the block to the cams and 44 more horsepower. I just traded my 05 for an 09 and it's not even the same truck, from the engine right down to the turn signals.

2009
ENGINE TRANSMISSION (hp @ rpm) (lb.-ft. @ rpm) CITY HWY. CITY HWY.
4.6L 2-valve V8 4-speed auto. O/D 248 @ 4750 294 @ 4000 14 mpg 19 mpg 14 mpg 18 mpg
4.6L 3-valve V8 6-speed auto. O/D 292 @ 5700 320 @ 4000 15 mpg 20 mpg 14 mpg 19 mpg

The 2009 Ram, Silverado and Sierra should all be recalled for their poor crash test ratings.

Oh... Who the hell cares this is a waist of a thread IMO. The new models will always have this sort of issue.

It's the 3rd Recall for the 09 Dodge Ram

Maybe you should read those links yourself. I knew the answer, that's why I asked. Not only are 2500 and 3500 rams not 1500s, they also have not been re-designed. They are a generation behind the 1500s, even though they are 2009s. It's like saying the 2009 f150 is a piece of junk because of a recall on a 2008 super duty. Bash the 09 1500 all you want, but at least bash the 09 1500 when you do it.

I think it's a bit more compicated than that. The 09's have a new engine, transmission, trailer sway program, and all mighty tail gate step!
