Does anyone know if the Platinum fender flares can be installed on an FX4? I know the body is the same, but do they mount with the same clips in the same location?

I'm thinking Blue, Gray, or Silver FX4 but would much rather have the painted flares than the gray plastic that come on the FX4. Looks much cleaner and nicer IMO. Plus they don't get faded and checked. The Platinum comes in each of these colors so I thought it would be easy to order some and bolt them on.

 

This is one thing I dislike about the FX4. I came from a KR, so I enjoyed the painted flares. It may be cheaper to paint what you have.

 

FX4 flares are plastic. I thought they came factory painted in stearling grey

 

You want some black platinum flares? My aftermarket flares should be on by tomorrow or friday at the latest, so most likely mine will be up for sale.

 

i bought mine off of ebay for $160 and they were from an FX2, so they will fit as long as you don't have a flare side

it's an '05 but should be the same theory.. same years ('04-'08 or '09+)will fit no matter what package the truck has ie.. FX4,FX2,XLT,Platinum etc.. as long as it's not a flare side and the truck came with flares from the factory. i dont see why they wouldnt fit, Ford uses the same fenders no matter what model the truck is.. the only difference is some fenders will have the holes for the flares punched out and the trucks that dont get flares will not have the holes punched out.. i could be wrong, but thats my theory..

 

09 front fenders are different 04-08 will not fit an 09 all fender flares sold over fords parts counters need to be painted..

 

i know that 09+ and 04-08 are not interchangeable. i was saying that all 04-08 should fit OR 09+ will fit
