A suggestion - check your state/local laws on tinting. Here in NW FL, the police are ticketing violators having dark tint, measured by a device.

Not to hijack your thread but I was thinking of getting mine tinted once I get my new truck. Does it look Ok with 35%? Here in Iowa you can legally only go to 70%. So I don't want to be too dark but would still like the fronts tinted a little. I'm not too concerned if I'm legal or not just want to know if 35% looks decent?

Here is Penna the law is 35%.
I could probably get away with more as I live in the boonies, but I found that anything darker than 35% makes it quite difficult to see when it's dark out.

I've put 35% on my front windows in my last 2 trucks, and plan on the same with my next one.

This isn't the best photo, but here is 35% on the fronts and the standard factory tint on the back.

[I know - I know - it's an '08 and I'm posting in the '09 section - just wanted to give an example]

I asked my dealer just to match the tint. It came back perfectly and you cannot tell the difference. Can you just ask the installer to match as well? Also, there has been a recent crack down of tint in my area as well. Multiple officers in my area have stated that if you put the windows down when you are pulled over, they wont have a big problem with the tint (just don't go overboard with limo tint!).

My installer said 15% matched, I was a little skeptical, however once I received my truck back, it matched perfectly, we don't have that big of a problem getting pulled over here in southern indiana, I had 5% all the way around on every one of my previous vehicles for the last 8 years and never a bother.

Where are you at? I am in FWB and don't have any trouble - I have 15% all the way around. Just curious.

This is the first vehicle I have ever had tinted and I wanted to keep them legal. I am in Cedar Rapids, which the cops don't seem to care too much as long as they can still see inside. Marion cops on the other hand are known to not be very lenient on tint and I didn't want to get a ticket for tint. It's not worth it to me.

I have 30% on the front. I think it looks alright.

According to our departments tint meters, the OEM tint on my 01 and 05 back windows is 18%.

Now that my eyes are getting older and I tow a lot of stuff I prefer the lighter tint. As long as it keeps the heat out and I can pick my nose in traffic I am happy. The local tint shop has a 28% film that passes the tester. That it what I got on the fronts. I think I did 20 over the rears.
