Great Info!

Thanks for the great info on SYNC & Nav.
I am currently waiting for my new Laetat 4x4 SCrew, and I also passed on the nav. but ordered the Sony system. I have been having second thoughts about my decision untill I read the threads on the subject.
I'm back to being happy with my original choise!
THANKS A BUNCH!!!!

You have to have the reverse sensing option installed first to be able to have the rear view camera.

It's part of the required package for the backup camera on the US models according to fmc specs. I imagine you could order without the sensing systems, but why would you. The second the color bars in the rear view come in range of an object, the sensors activate the beeping sound. The closer you get the faster the beep. Solid sound when in the red on the backup bars. It all works together.

Question

Any word on that occurence - add a few songs, but your Sync doesn't recognize them? I have a few songs on my Ipod that my Sync can never find when I hit the letter it starts with and search for it. But if I list every single song and scroll thru the entire list on my Sync I can find them that way. Very bizarre. Haven't tried voice yet to see if it fins them, I never use voice when listening to music so never think to try it.

Wonder if I wipe my Ipod clean, then redownload everything they'll all show up? Dunno, not a big ipod tech guy as it is, still have to figure the thing out the rare times I want to add songs to it.

This is something not really apparent from the documentation. When you plug in new USB device or old device that was changed you need to enter "folder mode" and make SYNC to index files.

You can only do it by using buttons. Not voice.

1. press MENU
2. scroll till "PLAY MENU" appears. Press OK.
3. scroll till "EXPLORE USB" appears. Press OK.

Now SYNC will start indexing files and you will be in the folder mode. If you change the device or if you added/removed any files, you will have to do it again.

I just found another way that SYNC is worth if for me... I put Pandora on my Blackberry Tour and using Bluetooth I can stream Pandora through SYNC! Works great and is another great choice for music variety. Now I have to choose what I want to listen to; nice option to have. I have SYNC w/NAV.

Yes, it's another way of doing it. But in this case you use your device to select what you play. Not SYNC. Actually I like SYNC voice commands. Takes some time to get used to, but it's real fun. But sometimes she (SYNC) doesn't take NO for the answer

You can also stream music from your device using just a good old audio cable from Radio Shack. This way you don't have to bother pairing your BT device with your car.

Good point... My Blackberry is also my cell, so I pair it to use the hands free option when talking. I agree about voice commands, they do take some getting used to.
