Smoked Tail Lights?

Hey guys I have a 2009 Black XLT, and was wondering if any of you guys have smoked the tail lights yet and if so could you please post some pics? I smoked my 2006 FX4 when I had it and loved the look of it but with these new style tail lights I was wondering how the chrome pieces would look behind tint?

I would try to mask off the chrome if you can. It might look kinda weird or it might give it a black chrome look. I would try it on a piece of scap plastic chrome if you can.

Just do it man anything would look better than the chrome tails, and on that black sheesh.

or wait about 5 or 6 months and the new 2010 Raptor should be out and you can order the smoked tail lights from it from an online parts dealer like Tasca.

This guy was selling some blacked-out tails. These are already sold, but you get the idea of them.

Thanks man those look really good, they used spray tint which is alot darker than a film tint which is what I'm going to use. I hope to get them done this week with picutes to follow but it's snowing here and the temp. is in the 30's which film tint doesnt stick so well in these temps.

It would look excellent on the '09 style. I really liek the new style of the tails, just not the chrome.

Yeah I like the new style also just wish they never did the chrome, the raptor has the same style light but instead of chrome inside they have black, the also have a slight tint but not enough in my opinion.

P.S. Saw the Raptor yesterday driving being that I live in Livonia where it not only is the home of Roush but Ford has one of there test track here.
