I would love to know how you did this, I want to do the same, but I am not sure about "blind nuts/rivet nuts" any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Hey brian. These are what the blind rivet nuts look like. You should be able to get them from any good industrial fixings store or online. the ones i used look like the first photo.

You drill a hole and then they work like a normal rivet but you would normally need a special tool.

I had to improvise here because i didnt want to buy a tool for this for just 4 rivet nuts. what i did was get a long bolt that would fit the rivet nut and then added a nut that was the size to fit that bolt and wound this all the way on the bolt. I then added numerous washers to build them up so that i could insert the bolt into the rivet nut then tighten down the nut that was on the bolt and in turn would tighten the rivet nut as i done up the nut on the bolt. Hope this makes some sense. If not let me know and i will go build one up quicly to give you an idea.

Or you could just do it the easy way and remove the bed bolts and slide the bed back a bit and then bolt your fork clamps on.

Now they are used to run wires through if your going to install a diesel tank with a fuel transfer pump.

Looks good! I have an appointment tomorrow morning to get my truck bed & tailgate sprayed. Local price quoted is $499, and they offer either a $20 or $50 discount, depending on timing.

I'll take a look at the clearance issue you mentioned, and be sure to point that out rather than finding out the hard way!

Thanks for posting the info!
