Copper is reborn in 2009

With the introduction of Mahogany for the 2008 King Ranch, we lost Copper, my favorite color ever produced.

However, it appears the 2009 model year has brought a new color... Royal Red. It looks remarkably close to copper. And it comes in a Lariat, not only a King Ranch. I've always been a Lariat guy anyway...

Here's an '07 KR in Copper:

I'm sure this isn't new news to everyone, but I am thrilled about it. Does anyone know if it looks like copper in person? How many variations could there be? Maybe it's even the same color...

Here is the whole link

I've never been fond of any red shades for a vehicle but I really liked the Royal Red when I saw it in person. Very classy.

I also like deep reds. I would have considered royal red for my truck, but I already have a car that is very similar in colour.

Not a colour I would pick for myself, but it is still very classy looking. The two tone goes really well together.

Actualy two good pictures to compare the differences in model years.

Color me red. Tickle me pink.

It's a sweet color. Both my 1997 and 1998 F-150's were Dark Toreador Red, which is basically the same exact color. They seem to tweak the colors a bit as the years go by, but a lot of the basic shades/colors remain the same.

Of course, they like to throw a curveball every now and then; such as that gag-inducing teal color in 1997, Blazing Yellow in 2004 which was sharp, and now that strange Amber Gold in 2009.

Well it seems pretty close to the copper to me. I'm glad it comes in a Lariat too.

So does that mean there are no longer any King Ranch exclusive colors?

Perhaps from a distance, there is some resemblance to the copper color from the previous generation. Up close, the similarity ends. Copper had elements of brown in the color. As you get closer to the Royal Red, the color is noticably dark red. Regardless, I couldn't imagine buying my '09 in another color.

I don't think of copper when I see that color, seems more dark red to me. I guess some would call it dark copper?

Copper - I think of the Superduty's that came in that copper color a few years ago, but I guess it was called rust orange or something?

Yeah it does look a little more red than brown. That's okay, though, I love red (obviously).

I thought I had a better picture in the sunlight showing off the more copperish look of my 08 KR although it was darker than the previous years; it has more of a brownish tint rather than red of the current truck. In the low light, it does look close.
