X Plan Questions
X Plan Questions
I have a question related to X plan pricing. I have negotiated what I believe to be a very good price on a 09 F150 outside of the X plan. Dealer doesnt know I can use X-plan.
In a nutshell I am quite a bit below X-plan price without any incentives.
If I go with regular purchase, I can get standard incentives of $3000 and financing at somewhere around 7.5% for 60mos. I could also go with a rebate of $1000 and get 4.9% for 60mos.
The X-plan incentives are $4500 and standard financing at the 7.5% or $2500 and the 4.9%.
The best of both words would be to get the dealer price which is less than X-plan but use the X plan incentives. Is this possible? Is the dealer required to use the X-plan price in order to get the X-plan incentives or can they sell for less than X-plan and get me the incentives?
Thoughts?

Not sure but if you find out, post the answer. I've used the x-plan also and still negotiated the price down as well as my trade in up. You can still "beat them up" but if they're not in the mood to move they won't. Around here there aren't alot on the lots so they tend not to move that much.

Most can get the truck down below X-Plan pricing. One of the good things with X-Plan pricing, the dealer is not allowed to tack on any additional fees and profit charges. The most they can charge is $75.00 for the doc fee.
You would have to work the numbers with what you have and look at what else they are charging you on the lines below the price of the truck. Then work it again with the X-Plan and see which is better. You still get the rebate going either way.
I noticed you mentioned a different interest rate if you were to take the "regular" price or X-Plan pricing. This should not be a factor.....your rate should not be based on if you opt to take the X-Plan pricing or not. Seems shady to me. It appears the dealer is trying to make up some money.
Just my thoughts.

The X-plan price is only about $100 below invoice. So unless you are getting the dealer to give you all the holdback on the truck your best deal will be using your X-plan given the rebates when you use X-plan.
What model of F-150 are you looking at? The more expensive the truck the more holdback they have.

It makes no difference how you go xplan or not. Either way you get all rebates, and the interest rate has nothinig at all to do with xplan. All xplan is is a set price with a cap on doc fee of $75.
FYI, I walked into the dealer, offered them $300 less than xplan without mentioning xplan, and they took the deal.
