Decal removal (pics)

I just thought I'd post some before, during, and after pics for those interested in removing the bed decals on their FX4's. They came off really easy (no residue left behind) with just a standard hairdryer to soften the adhesive. The result is somewhat less sporty, but cleaner IMHO. Not for everyone, but I like it. Because of the graphic design, those decals always looked torn or damaged to me.

yeah, I took the 4x4 stickers off my Platinum too the first week I had it (just haven't bothered with pics yet like you!). I also took the FX4 stickers off my old 04 truck. It's best to take those stickers off when the truck is new.

Maybe I'll get some new pics this weekend when I put my Bakflip cover on, and I got my windows tinted too (actually had 20% done on the front windows but turned out too dark for my taste, so I had them redone with 35% since front tint is actually illegal here).

I see your using the Andis 1875. How do you like that model? I've heard really good things about it.

Seriously though, I don't care for the new decals that they have. I would have thought they would have come up with something better than those. With that being said then obviously I like it better without them.

Yeah, I'm thinking of adding a turbocharger to the Andi as my first mod. It's a little weak off the line. then I'm going to work on the exhaust

Steve: Please show some pics of the window tint...that's next for me!! Also, you still haven't got around to that bakflip install yet?? I may beat you to it and mine is still in transit!

Dang, I am torn, I actually like the FX4 stickers (dunno why, but I think they are cool). But man, the grey is even cleaner looking without them. Oh boy, now I have a decision to make! Thanks for posting the pics, it looks good.

Torn is exactly the word I would use as well. My truck will have the 4X4 sticker on it and I think I am going to keep them, but it's great to know that they will come off rather easily. Thanks

I kind of like my FX4s stickers, the 4x4 if I had them would probably come off however.

Looks good without out them as well.

I agree with CobyMedic. I like the FX4 stickers......but your truck does look good without them.

I like them as well, but I also understand why some may not like the look of them FX4 ones because of the "sporty" or "torn" look, because from a distance some people may think you don't take care of your truck seeing the decals all "torn".

The only thing that stinks is that they always tend to get a little wax buildup around them, and it's a pita going around them with your fingernail to get it off once in awhile, although these ones may be easier as they look rectangular rather than forming to the shape of each letter.
