Question Order and build time line

Spoke to my dealer today and asked about build. They told me a week ago that it was to be built week of Mar. 16th to 20th. Today he had a sheet in front of him with truck info on it and said my truck had been (not sure of spelling) bucked or buc'd. Dealer said it means that truck has started production. This sound right, and what kind of time line does this mean? Completed build, scheduled for shipping, actual ship date anddelivery time form Dearborne to East Coast. Just curious. Thanks for any info.

By the way, ordered truck 3 weeks ago today.

If your truck has been bucked - that's a very good sign...generally build starts right after it's (within a day) been bucked (an archaic term for having all the materials on hand to start the build). Good luck and please post pics!! As to the post-build timeline -it can still vary quite a bit. When my Shelby GT500 was built it sat on the ramp for 5 days before they (finally) loaded it onto a rail car for the agonizingly sloooow trip to the West coast. It got stuck for 10 days in the Kansas City "mix yard" and all-in-all it took 21 days from the day it was parked outside the factory to get to my dealer....drove me NUTS!! Although, I've heard others getting their vehicles within 10 days of it being built so you just never know....

Hotlap , Thanks for reply. A couple weeks one way or other is not an issue. Just want to know to have things ready on delivery. Did not want to just get a call and say it's here without warning. I ordered a new F250 4x4 in 1976 the year Ford went on strike. That was a killer waiting months and not having a truck at the time. Thanks again..

and then you have to hope that your truck doesn't get randomly chosen for a quality check. After hearing all you guys talk about build dates, it sucks having to wait until May to get mine.

My truck just arrived at the dealership. I'm going to check it out after work but it won't be coming home with me until tomorrow (can't get to the credit union in time today).

I'll post pictures when she comes home!

gpo - I hear you...but you may just end up with a nice surprise as there is probably a pretty good chance it will arrive early...there's just no reason for it to take 10+ weeks...I haven't heard of any materials shortages/rail strikes or anything that would hold up your new truck

^That's some good news. It would be awesome to see my truck before the end of April.
