pics of 2009 stepside

I've got a woody for the new STX's and am thinking about paying off my Mustang, selling my 04 F150 and getting a new one. I've always liked the looks of the stepsides, but haven't been able to find one around my part of St. Louis on a lot. They're all stylesides here. Anyone have a picture of a stepside? Preferrable standard cab in Blue Flame or Red.

There are a couple pics on here, check the threads. There's one in Pueblo Gold and one in Blue Flame that I definately recall. Just FYI, if you have a Flareside bed on your 2004, it's the exact same Flareside bed for 2009; they didn't even change the taillights, nothing. So if you liked the one for 2004, you'll like the same exact one for 2009.

Personally, I loved them for the '97 body-style, but the '04 body style ones had those 3 stupid black things all along both sides of the bed. What the heck are those things? Get rid of 'em and it would look so much cleaner!

mine is a heritage, so its the 97 body style. I wish it was a step side. Thanks for the pictures guys, so it looks like the stepside does not have the lines across the tailgate. I do agree with the above post on the tie downs on the outside of the bed. I think I'll have to find one to check out on person. If I can cut them off, I may be interested. It's just too bad you can't get a standard cab, stepside, with a 5.4 for 2009. My current x-cab barely fits in the garage, I think with my next one I want to go standard cab. All the x-cab does for me is give me more room to throw crap that I could easily put in the bed with a bed cover.

You cant just got the tie downs off, they are bolted to the side of the bed and the bed is dented in to fit the tie downs. There have been some ppl that have bought chrome metal plugs that fill in the space of the tie down (check the 04-08 forum). I actually like the tie downs myself, I use them fairly often.

I think it would have looked sharp tho if they put the same lines on the tailgate as the styleside gate.

Now you've got me thinking. I love the looks of the H&R truck, having the whole grill painted. I figure that's the first thing I'll do once I buy one. I could probably fab up some of those plates pretty easy and have them painted body color while the grill is being done. The only chrome I plan on having is the nerf steps and possibly wheels. Hell, I may try to get a pair of KR door handles worked into the deal and have them body matched as well.

That's amazing. We have about 10 Fords dealers within 25 miles of us, each with that many or more.

The flareside bed is the exact same one from 2004; they didn't add trim to the taillights or line the tailgate or anything. Perhaps they put the new design 4x4 decals on them, but that's it.

Seeing as Ford is the only one to still offer flareside beds, can't complain too much if that's your thing. And for those who hate the taillights for 2009, I've been saying "order a flareside then" for a couple months now. Easy solution!

PS The first time I saw an '09 in person, I really liked the taillights. In fact, a number of Ford vehicles have that chrome trim around their taillights, just makes it look more fancy/expensive. I've yet to see a Fusion or whatnot and think, damn that looks like a ricer mod...
