The real answer is out there though...FORD are you listening...Xenon headlights I don't even think there is an Ultra in the H13 yet...(according the Sylvania's web site that is).

So, Barritta what have you done or are you planning for your Platinum?
PIAA makes a nice H13 bulb now. Might want to check them out. I found them on Amazon for a decent price.

Just got my Platinum the other day. I replaced the big whip antenna (hit my garage door) with a 6 inch billet one. Same reception, lower profile and looks great.

Can't think of much I would change!

All in all, this truck is everything I expected (except sync). I just wish that I could have only the passenger side step bar to deploy. I've bruised my shins WAY to many times. I'm 6'2 so I don't need it, but my 5'3 girlfriend does.

Sync can't handle large librarys and seems to have a hard time playing "all tracks"

OJ - they still have the fender mounted whip antenna? Darn, in the brochure it only shows the sat antenna on the cab roof...I was hoping the fender antenna had been eleminated

Yeah the sync can only do upto 15000 songs. You can have as many as you like if you use the normal way of just chooseing your album. If you could remember the names of 15000 songs you have a better mem than me lol.

I don't have a Platinum but I did read how you can turn the boards off but not independently. Perhaps there's a harness plug underneath so you can unplug the driver's board if you don't need it?

It would a very very easy mod. The power running boards are just wired into the door switch. Put a switch somewhere in that cable and you can shut down one or the other.

Why not just adjust to the functionality of power running boards? They're much better than fixed units....

In the pics Ford edits out the antenna and license plate brackets. Makes the truck seem even cleaner, newer I guess. At least that's my assumption as to why they do it.

My Platinum will be here between 4-5 weeks now. Ordered the Full Coverage Rubber Mats with it from factory, so my mods before picking it up from dealership will be:

Remote Start
Molded Splash Guards
Drop-In Bedliner

Later I want to get Upfitter Switches in the spot where the trailer brake control would be.

Can't imagine what else I'd do to a Platinum. I'm so glad there's a lot less black plastic trim than on my 2004. It's so hard to keep that stuff looking deep black. I will try doing nothing but washing those areas this time around, see how that goes. Any time you put trim shine it looks amazing for a week or so but then makes the black fade. Probably last longer without any of that stuff on it.

Oh, those of you who want bugshields or vent visors might want to read the threads regarding those and the extra wind noise they create. Unlike previous models where that didn't happen, this one seems really designed for airflow, so adding those means adding wind noise. Just FYI.

Do you have a link to the site for your billet antenna?

Cometflash if you want a good kit to keep your leather in top condition and the vinyl/plastic and rubber in good condition try this http://www.pinnaclewax.com/pin410.html

It's a great kit and ment to be some of the best on the market.

Here's what I've done to mine:

Flow-master exhaust. 3" pipe from back pressure cans to 3 1/2" chrome tip. (single side exit) Dual exit is only cosmetic as it is just a branch from the right side. You really need to keep the back pressure cans for the engine to run right.

K/N Drop in air filter

Skyjacker 2" leveling kit

F-150 rubber floor mats front and back

Things I still would like to do:

Tint driver and passenger side windows

Some kind of retractable bed cover (any suggestions for the best one out there?)

Mud flaps

Performance chip (although the exhaust and air filter really did help already)

Change out the tail light box to something without chrome

Find a trim piece of brushed aluminum, to match the grill, to fit where the front license plate goes.

Other than that, the truck is perfection.

Hey Radcastle on the 2" leveling kit - did that make your truck a bit higher in the front than the rear? I had heard that the typical leveling kit was 1" - 1.5"? Also, do you have 2wd or 4x4? Enjoy your new truck the Platinum is a winner for sure...can't wait until mine arrives

For those of you who have the Sony Nav/preimum sound...do you still have the fender mounted whip antenna or just the "shark fin" on the front edge of the cab? I was hoping the fender mounted antenna was history
