Diff between leveling kits
Diff between leveling kits
So im looking into getting a leveling kit for my 09 FX4 and see a few companies make the kits. You have:
Daystar which is about $130
Procomp which is about $230
Readylift which is about $230
and i believe fabtech even makes one now. Im not to much on the up and up on leveling kits. Why the big price diff between readylift/procomp as opposed to daystar? Is it because Daystar uses a urethane block and the others use steel? Am i gonna hear any squeeking in the future being that these are installed?

One things ive heard with the daystarts that goes between the spring and shock is it streatchs the shocks out and will wear them out. Plus you will hear sqeeks becasue of metal on urethane. But then with the as metal spacer on top of the shock is that you will wear out the upper ball joint so im not sure what to believe.
Autoanything is having a sale right now with 10% off leveling kits...Guess ill pull the trigger on the Readylift since i can find a lot of reveiws for that type of kit and its guranteed to keep the stock ride
Here is another leveling kit to check out by Rancho.

The award-winning Rancho QuickLIFT technology has made its way to various applications in the truck world, providing quick access to larger wheel and tire combinations while leveling out the front suspension on popular trucks including the newly redesigned F-150 and Ram. Named an award-winning suspension technology at the 2006 SEMA Show, the Rancho QuickLIFT coilovers are capable of providing 1- to 2.5-in. of additional front suspension lift to allow clearance for tires up to 35-in. in size on select applications.

Bilstein also has their leveling shocks for the '04-'08 trucks. If those don't fit, I bet it wont be long before they have them available for the '09...that's the only route I'd consider personally because you get the leveled front and you get the performance of Bilstein shocks at the same install.

Daystar has gone to a one piece design now like everyone else has. A leveling kit is a very, very simple product and most are identical. Why pay $230 for the same leveling kit that Autospring sells for less than $100?
I just bought the Readylift leveling kit...hope to have it within the next few days
Here's the Auto Spring leveling kit Wandell mentioned. Fits the 2009 F-150. $78.95 (I have this one on my truck.)

thats weird that the 09 kit is the same as the 04-08 kits. Readylift and others have different kits for the 09.
How has the kit treated you so far? No problems what so ever? Wondering if i should cancel the kit i ordered and go with the 2 1/2" kit for a dead level look

70,000 miles later, my 2" Auto Spring leveling kit is still ok. But if I was installing one on my 2010-11, I would do something different like the Bilstein front leveling shocks. I think the Readylift is too expensive because on top of the $230.00 you still have to pay for the alignment which will be about $60 and if you pay a shop to install it add another $125. And as Wandell said you're getting basically the same thing as some of the lower priced kits. Either go with a lower priced leveling kit like the Auto Spring or do as Galaxy suggested with the Bilsteins. For about the same money as the Readylift you can get the Bilsteins (if available) and upgrade your shocks at the same time.
