In the Shop
I have the 4.6 so at least that should not be a problem.
usually, I had a buddy who was an engineer for Dodge a few years back and one of his jobs was to test the strength of the parking pawl in the transmission. Basically, he'd drive a stripped down car (drivetrain and basic sheet metal) at up to 25 or so MPH and throw it in park. I think he said you can do this about 3 times in a charger before the pawl snaps off. Now THAT's the kind of job I need! Destruction testing rocks!
It reminds me of the penguin that had a transmission problems and was eating an ice cream cone as he walked across the street into a bar to have a drink while he was waiting on the shop to fix his transmission. You know penguins have those little hands so he had ice cream all over his hands and beak. He walks into the bar and tells the bartender that he wants a drink while he is waiting for the transmission shop across the street to repair his leaking transmission. The bartender fixes his drink and asks him if he blew a seal. The penguin said no that he was just eating an ice cream cone.
