Question

According to that, all 3 new engines (5.0 Coyote, EcoBoost V-6 and 6.2Boss) are all virtually identical @ 400hp.

Seems rather silly. Why choose either of the other two over EcoBoost if it makes the same power and saves a lot more on fuel? Upfront cost would do little to sway people as EcoBoost is supposed to recoup investemnt within two years time.

Also seems strange how they are supposed to launch the 5.0 and EcoBoost two whole years after refreshing the vehicle (2011MY). Are they hoping to work any kinks out of them before redesigning the truck or what?

Between the economy and Ford's games with the F-150, sure is an interesting time we're in right now. Only upside is the massive investments in retirement accounts now sure turn into a lot more profit down the road. Perhaps in a few years both the economy and the F-150 will be sorted out.

PS Thanks for the update, fordboy820!

Always knew it was a good name. Maybe Ford will give me a namesake truck? ;-)))))

I think chevy and titan should be refreshing/ updating their trucks by 2011 and maybe thats why they are holding off on the engines, since the new Ram is a joke

100% agreed!!! Saw my first '09 ram the other day, and it was just a devastating mess. It literally feels as if the front end of the truck is frowning at you. As if it knows chrysler is bleeding money and needs to show it. So sad.

Something we agree on Cometflash lol The truck is a heap compaired to the F150. It just dont feel tuff. Ok it was a tad quicker than the f150 but not enough to make me want it.

I think the 5.0 is more for the mustang and the replacement of the 4.6 . Since the base motor of the f150 is the 4.6 now is why it too will be getting the 5.0. Im kinda surprised they would let this out because i dont see alot of 2010 GT mustangs being sold if they can wait a year and get a 4 valve 5.0. I know ill be waiting until 2011.

Also consider that the aftermarket options for the 2 N/A engines will be far more extensive than for the ecoboost. The ecoboost is already twin turbo'd, and because of the turbo's intricate design, i doubt any heavy modifications can be made to them. Now Imagine a supercharger on the 6.2....

i dont know..i think the new Ram is awsome. i actually like the exterior better that F150, but Fords interior still is supreme.

the Ram is considerably faster at 390 HP and get about the same mpg. also, the 4x2 actually looks tough unlike Ford, whos truck screams 2 wheel drive due to its stance.

I'm still betting u won''t see an 5.0L in the f-150 in 2011 or anytime soon, ford put this engine on the shelf sometime ago and things haven't got any better for the auto industry???

Ive heard that the ecoboost will cost 700 extra in the flex but u will have to opt for the all wheel drive in the flex if you get the ecoboost so im guessing the ecoboost will be about what it is now for the 5.4L n the f150
