$10k off $41k will be hard to do. I'm seeing A-plan prices around $8300 off for $41k-ish vehicles. A-plan would be about $1600 under X-plan. Summer will have more discounts because 2010's will be coming around August, just as 2008's are heavily discounts now partly because 2009's have been out for a while, partly because 2009 was a model change (hate to call it all new).

In Canada,

I got the sticker price of ($43,460) down to $37,000 for the following truck:

1. 2009 XLT w/ XTR package and updated tow package.
2. Bed liner installed.

Do you guys think I got ripped?

You basically got approx 16% off. I got approx 19% off. You didn't get 'ripped' - seems like you got a decent deal.

Sounds reasonable to me ETALON91, that almost 15% off the sticker. I assume that was just walking in without any sort of special deal? Do you mind me asking which Province you are in?

(sorry for the long post )

I'm in Ontario (Toronto). This is exactly how my negotiating went:

I basically went into the dealership knowing I didn't have to buy a truck (and made them aware of that). I was trying to go the lowest I could to go to see where the bottom was (not knowing what the invoice price was). This dealership had the truck I wanted.

To negotiate, I basically said that I would sign papers if the sticker price was $33,000 (knowing I wouldn't get that). The sales guy basically told me that it was low, but he would check. He immediately came back and told me it was too low, but his manager said they could do it for $41,000. I told him I could get an an 08 Dodge for $35,000 out the door (lie), and was ready to deal over there. He then said it was a Dodge (haha), and it was a different truck than the F150, (but) his manager said he could go lower to $40,000. I then told him that I could only go as much as $37,000, and basically said I would have to walk (as that was as much as I could go). He went back to his manager.

His manager then came to me to talk. He then said $40,000 was the lowest, and that I was getting a really good deal. Again, I told him that $37,000 was the the only price I was available to pay, and that I wasn't trying to nickel and dime him, but I had a budget (AND I DIDN"T HAVE TO BUY A TRUCK).

He didn't budge, and I left without the truck.

HOWEVER, at 9:00am (exactly), they called and said that they could go as low as $39,000. I told them that I wasn't really negotiating, and that $37,000 was the price I could pay (my girlfriend also had a say in this - again lying!!!).

At 9:30, I recieved another call to say that they would sell the truck for $37,000. I walked in at 12:00pm, and signed the papers. I LOVE this truck

Anyways, that's what I did, and I feel pretty good about it. However, I still don't really know if I received a good deal or not

LOVE THE TRUCK THOUGH!

Have any of you guys considered buying Super Duty's right now? I live in San Diego, and all day long there is 10k off 09 F-150's even up to 12k off 08's, however the F-250/350's are 12-15k off MSRP..... By the looks of it the F-150s are not that much cheaper anymore. I had an 02 F-150, now I have a F-250 Diesel. There was a big price difference between the two..... But now there isnt such big price differences.......

Now I'm seeing F-250's 4x4 Larait, 6.4, etc..... for mid 30's all day long, cheaper than what a lot are paying for 150's and a whole lot more truck? Just curious why so many are paying the same for F150's?

Going from a 150 to a 250 was a world of difference, and I dont know if I could ever have another 150......

My 150 did turn better, but other than that my 250 gets better MPG, tows better, more room inside, longer engine warranty, etc.... I guess I'm just trying to figure out how some justify spending more for a 150 than a 250?

Does anyone have an idea what an '09 4x4 5.4L super crew XLT would run? Is there any resources to find out dealer costs? If one knew the dealer's cost, it would be a lot easier to negotiate.

Thanks!

I just test drove an 09 XLT Supercab with the 5.4 and tow package today. Sticker was $41,300 and when I asked what they could come down to, the saleman came back with $39,200. I didn't think that was much to write home about but in fairness, I wasn't pushing hard either. I mainly wanted to checkout the truck, see how it drove, etc. There were Canadian prices as well.
