Actually, I buy a new truck every 2-3 years because I like to. The most recent F-150 was in my driveway for almost 5 years and 83K miles. It was trouble free during that time but starting to show it's age a bit. Most notably, the hood was rusting where the grill attached and the ride quality and overall quietness of the interior had eroded a bit. Mostly though, it's just that I like a new one every so often.

All my complaints about the Tundra are things that really don't jump out at you until you've had some seat time. The horsepower is intoxicating and plays a big part in why Toyota sells these things. If it were a slug, they wouldn't move half as many. Don't get me wrong, the Tundra is a very nice vehicle. IMO, it just isn't the truck that the F-150 is.

Nowadays you do. In 2007 after Tundra's first year, Norcal was littered with them. It was disgusting.

Cali does suck, but for some of the same issues in other states around the country. Let us get back on point. Yes the Tundra may be worth more in the end, but what company has the most trucks on the road with more than a 100,000 miles and still running strong...FORD. Everyone has their own opinion as to who makes the best truck, but the numbers don't lie, any vehicle that can lead the industry in sales for 30 years straight must be superior to all the others in overall quality amongst truck owners.

i test drove all the different trucks before i bought my F-150 and to be honest, other than lack of power the F-150 felt the best inside, looked the best, was the most practical and just overal won my vote. it seems to have done that with alot of other people aswell so they are obviously doing somthing better than the competetors.

For a guy who usually puts on 4 to 5 times what the Average Joe puts on a year, no one will tell me anyone builds the most dependable truck other than Ford. Too many of the guys on my jobs and my friends have learned the hard way, or only drive theior trucks 10k-15k a year. I just don't understand it. With all the F-150's I've owned and all the F-250 diesels I've owned, I guess I've been lucky. Everyone griped about the 6.0L Powerstroke, and I found in the three I owned, they ran great without any issues.

Now, that said, this current 2008 F-150 has had it's share of gremlins, but I think they have finally been worked out. Maybe with a little luck the windshield thing is done... it's fourth one in seven months went in yesterday, and I've been driving minimally just because work is light these days. But, that's not a Ford issue... just an omen.
