09 F150 Owners - Few questions for you

Hi all,

I have a few questions for 09 F150 owners. I want to see if your trucks exhibit the same behavior:

1. When approaching a red light from 40 mph, can you noticably feel the gears changing? I mean, can you feel the VERY slight buck when the gear comes down? It's nothing major, I just want to make sure that's what it is.

2. Do you find it takes quite a bit of pedal push to bring the truck up to 60 mph? The truck has no problems getting there, but you have to pretty much floor the thing.

Thanks guys

I have noticed a few "hard" shifts every now and then but not regularly.

With mine I barely push the pedel and am usually launching off faster than the cars and trucks around me, very easy to get to 80 without any effort and is some case not expected.

I do have the 3.55 limited slip rear axle with the 5.4L though.

Thanks for your post. I forgot to add my trucks specs:

1. 5.4L V8 w/ 3:55 axle limited slip
2. SuperCrew w/ 6.5 ft bed

----

Have you towed anything with your truck yet? If so, what did you haul?

I have the same specs and cant say i have noticed the down changes. but then again i ain't been looking for them. I know one thing for sure i cant tell when it changes up gears. Been the first vehicle i have ever driven where i cant tell when it changes up gears. Very impressed with the transmission.

I don't have a problem with thinking i have to press the pedal to far to get going. Def have to push it down further than our mazda 6 but thats to be expected.
I did get the back end to slide out the other night in the wet and wernt even pushing the throttle that hard so it seem to pick up pretty quick.

I've got the 5.4L/3.55 LS combo, also. I have felt the downshift.

No problem smoking the tires...

I have the 5.4 and 3.73 on my fx4. The downshifts become very apparent with an aftermarket exhaust. I can hear the downshifts after installing a magnaflow muffler. I'm glad to hear others are experiencing the downshifts. My previous superdutys down shifted, but only when in tow/haul. As for accelerating, my truck seems to get to 60 very easily. This truck feels much quicker then my '07.
