Myself, I never use the grab handle. I prefer to have extra visibility.

It will not hurt your steering wheel to use it as a grab handle.

Where do you sit that it affects your visability? 6 in from the wheel?

Well if you must know, I'm a midget.
It may just be a grip to you but, to me it's a damn refridgerator handle.

I with these trucks had a roof handle, that seems to be more useful for my passengers. The a-pillar is too far away for small people, who actually need it.
