Is anyone surprised or dissapointed that the 09' Lariat interior does not come in medium stone?

After always having XLT's I wanted to spoil myself with a Lariat. However, I don't care for the camel or black colors.

Is it just me?

 

Personally, I love the tan leather, but I can see why that would be disappointing. The '97-'03s had gray leather in them. I know they've brought that back for the '09s, but I think it's only for the FX4.

 

I agree. The should have kept it as an option. They have a million other options available why not stone interior. Ford does that sometimes - dropping popular colors and things like that or limiting them to just 1 model year.

 

You can get light stone in the Platinum, but then I can't get the bright red exterior.

Talk about putting a guy in a jam.

Does ford ever add optional colors mid-year? I would hate to wait another year and then still not have that option.

 

Ford has always made some really bizarre decisions in the 150. Since '97 I have closely watched what they have allowed, and there are always some very strange decisions they make for their customers instead of letting them decide. Using your example, is it really that hard for them to let a customer have grey leather in any 150 they want, if they already make the grey leather as an option on certain models/combos/trims/etc? How hard is it to do two-tone on a Platinum? There are so many bone-headed calls that they make for us, instead of leeting us decide what we want. Typical for any US auto maker I guess, or so I read in all the financial reports as to why the big 3 are failing compared to the foreign makers. Just one of many reasons, but it's one that makes no sense.

It's not like you are asking them to create something special just for you, like red leather interior. You just want the grey that's already available, just not for what you want. For example, in '04 I wanted the revese sensors, but I had to pay for the stupid tow package to get them. In 1998 I wanted a Lariat Flareside 4x4, but they omit they 4x4 decals with Lariat trim. I had to have the dealer order them seperately and put them on! Go figure. Maybe Chrysler and GM about to go into bankruptcy will make the big 3 sit up and listen to what the customer wants, not what they think the customer should want and has to abide by because of their decisions for us.

 

Exactly! I would have ordered, or be driving a new 09 by now, but instead I'm thinking mabey I'll have to wait a year. I know they could use the money like RIGHT NOW!

Or, I could have a Platinum painted, or I could replace the Camel interior in the Lariat. OK, but really, I'm willing to pay so let me special order what I want.

It's like they're thinking we can't use grey, the most poupular color, because then no one would buy the platinum. Or mabey they're thinking, if you want grey get out your wallet.

Instead of them making a nice interior, and then making it nicer for every package, they made a nice interior and then dummed down every level. (option wise)

It seems like they knocked the XLT down a notch for 09 so people would move up to lariat or above. Like a backdoor way to raise prices, but say they did'nt.

Are they trying to push everyone up a notch, If so I hope it does'nt backfire because Ford seemed like a company for the masses.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just frustrated.

 

OK, now their just screwin with me.

I just looked on Ford's new build and price website (just updated) and front and center is a BRIGHT RED PLATINUM! So, I proceed to build my truck, and surprise bright red is still not available. Remember the light grey interior is only available in the Platinum and bright red is available on anything but. ??????????????????????????????????????????
