09's are Cheaper !
I am glad to say that it appears as though the 2009 KR's are cheaper then a 2008. I bought a 2008 and as you can see below it cost me $54,904
The only thing I did not get were 20 inch rims

I paid 40k for my 2004 Lariat 4x4 SuperCrew. Fully loaded with every option available at the time I ordered) except for that stupid overhead rear entertainment system that I would never even see in the back seat area).Otherwise I had it ordered with every single other option available. The price also included the dealer-installed accessories too, such as bug shield, window shields, bedliner, remote start, rubber floor mats, splash guards front & rear, etc. Not sure how that compares to a similarly equipped 2009 refresh, but if it helps anyone on here to haggle a better price I'm glad to share the info.
My 1997 XLT 4x4 SuperCab Styleside with all options for an XLT, was 28k.
My 1998 Lariat 4x4 SuperCab Flareside with every possible option available (except tow package) was 32k.
For some reason every time I buy the new model there is always 1 option I just have zero interest in. I figure if I'm spending a crapload of money, why not get what I want. That's why I traded my 97 for a 98, cause if you're going to be making vehicle payments for many years, why not make them a little higher but get everything you want, then you have no regrets as you pay that horrible bill month after month after month after year after year after year... egads. That's why I paid my 04 off after just a year and a half or so.
From now on I'm just buying outright. Never again will I make someone else rich off of me paying interest to them. I think that's part of the reason I'm so let down about the 2009's, they are just way too similiar to what I'm already driving and love, for me to go waste money on one even though I could walk in and pay off a Platinum today. At least if I didn't have the money I could say to myself oh well can't afford one so forget it. It's the fact I could buy one today and own it but just couldn't live with myself trying to convince myself it was an all-new model when every part of my being tells me it's so obviously not, just a major refresh.
Anyways, if any of that info helps anyone here to haggle a better price for their truck if they need one right now in this economic climate and all, I'm glad to provide the info.
(and please just buy outright, don't make someone else money from you being in debt, just makes zero sense from the buyer's perspective)

(and please just buy outright, don't make someone else money from you being in debt, just makes zero sense from the buyer's perspective)The point is most people cant do a one of payment for a truck and more than likely never will be able to. If you earn loads of money you buy more expensive stuff and a bigger house and more vacations and your outgoing a month are the same % of your money as they was if you earned less and had cheaper stuff.
Even if the 08's were 15k cheaper i wouldnt buy the 08 over the 09. There are just way to many great improvements on the 09's compaired to the 08. The intrior alone for me would be worth a upgrade. The 04-08 didnt have a lot going for them in that department. But no truck really did.
If you have that much money spare then it would be silly for you not to upgraded if your thinking about it as they have interest free and you can afford the payments no problem at no cost to you.

Cometflash, I think we all know by now that you aren't going to buy the new truck. Why do you keep typing up these lengthy posts in the past months about your personal finances, saving 401k/house, etc., do you really need to keep posting this info to convince yourself to save your money and not buy the new truck?

Nah, just happens the F-150 is one of my fav things so I'm always on here and enjoy throwing my 2 cents in when I have the time. Same thing with the finance message boards. between those two things, work and my gf, well, those are the things that interest me the most so that's where I spend my free time. Everyone has their areas of interest, I'd assume that's where they'd spend their time. For example, a lot of guys I know are into sports and they talk about that stuff a lot, prob have message boards for football and raleatd crap, they prob go there. I'll live my life and never even search for a sports related message board. I think people tend to gravitate, spend time, and become passionate, about things they really enjoy/have an interest in. F-150's just happen to be a passion of mine so I end up here a lot. Best thing to do if you don't share my opinion is to either ignore my posts or avoid F-150 sites and financial message board sites. Those are the 2 places I most frequent cause they interest me. No one had an issue with me back in 2003/2004, just happens some of them get mad at me now cause of my disappointment in the refresh as I was looking for another all-new F-150. Doesn't mean I dislike what they did, in fact I like all of the improvements very much. Was just hoping for a very different styling change as well, ala 1997 and 2004. And I'm still considering a 2010 with EcoBoost because my 04 has a horrid engine whine that I'm tired of listening to and I have always hated the fact that the 04's didn't have NAV as an option. By the time early 2010 rolls around I'll see what my feelings and financials are at that time, since my gf & I also have a wedding planned for summer 2010. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who loves the F-150 more than me, that's why I'm always here. But like I said, if you disagree with my opinions please either disregard them altogether, or by all means reply agruing your own opinions. One guy on this board is always relpying to my posts with his own opinions, and never have I replied bashing him, although on occasion I may reply with my own opinion in regards to his opinion. Same as we all do here, that's what a message board is for. We all talk, all have opinions, and all live our own seperate lives no matter what anyone else on a board may type. It's just fun to be able to join in on a topic relevant to each of us as a message board contains members interested in the same topic, no matter what opinion they may have. Look at the topic of lifted trucks for example. Personally I dislike them, but others love them. How about NAV? Some say it's useless, I would love to have it. How about tires? I've heard Pirelli's are crap from other 150 owners, but never had any myself so can't comment at all. How about refresh vs new? See what I mean, we all have our piece to say, doesn't mean any of us are going to convince the other they are right or wrong, we all just have our own opinions and like to share because we all have a love of these trucks (or financials, or sports, or whatever may interest you in life). Hmm, not sure what else to say. Just like to give my opinion, and like to help if I ever can, such as not wanting to see more American's getting into debt. But that's just my opinion, take it or leave it not only will I never know but I certainly won't be losing sleep over it wondering if anyone followed my advice. It's a message board for fun, smile a little, life is way too short to get upset about words on a screen. It is fun to get passionate about our trucks though, isn't it?!

Oh, and to the other guy, yes it sometimes does help to remind yourself why you are saving. I've found constant reminders and reviews of your savings/401k can really help to keep you on track towards a goal, because I think most people would rather spend than save. It's always tough trying to save for my future yet also saying to myslef, you only live once. In fact Barritia just said that, and he certainly has a point. Balance is key, I try hard to live balanced and maintain no debt. But yes it helps to talk/remind myself, maybe a good tip for others trying to save?
Trying to get this post back on topic...
Does anyone else think this is WAY too much chrome? I had the 2006 Dark Copper KR and I liked that fact that it had zero chrome on it.

The front of the 2009 FX4 looks much better to me without all of the chrome. Of course, I would have gone with a black bull bar and black wheels...

I agree with you on the bars. The front of the KR looks like they just "stuck" a big chrome grille on the front of an otherwise clean looking truck.
Somebody in the Ford Design department must really like chrome...

I personally love chrome and ordered the chrome package on several of my past trucks. I'm a little ticked that a 2009 XLT with the chrome package in 2009 has more chrome than a Lariat. The bold three bar grille of the XLT looks much better than the Lariat fairy grille. The chrome handle straps on the XLT should come with the Lariat, too, but they don't. Lariats just get body-colored bezels and handles. I guess I shouldn't complain... Lariates still get chrome tow hooks and chrome capped mirrors with the chrome package. Oh, whoopie. If it weren't for the fact I like chrome-capped mirrors, I'd forgo the Lariat Chrome Package on my next order. In fact, now that I see the 20" polished aluminum wheels look so much better than those fugly 20" chrome-clad wheels, I may just live with the monchromatic exterior and go with no chrome.
By the way, my 2008 F-150 Supercrew King Ranch pretty much fully loaded without navigation stickered at $44,825 when I ordered it this past early summer. I thought I'd go with another Lariat next time, but the few hundred dollars more for a comparable King Ranch would certainly sway me back to the King. The few grand more to the Platinum certainly will not sway me, though.

Smokewagun, As far as the 09 Lariat chrome pkg, since they have painted door handles, if they add the chrome door pulls, then it would look just like the Platinum handles (old Mark LT handles), and maybe Ford doesn't want that in order to keep the Platinum model more unique. If you got the Lariat chrome pkg, you could always add the chrome door pulls yourself.
the 08 XLT chrome pkg did not have chrome door pulls but now the 09 XLT chrome pkg does.
