"The only thing this truck is missing is a powerful V-8 — it finished last in two of the three pure-power towing tests "

Ford has won truck of the year everytime they change the body style, and half the time otherwise.

Wow. Pitiful display by Ford. I'm embarrassed actually. Lowest power ratings across the board. This win was not deserved if you ask me, all bias aside, of course.

Yeah jog on. The truck is a great truck no matter how you look at it. It has a better engine than the 2008-past trucks so are you saying that they are also pitiful?? So what if it gets to 60 a secong or so slower and who cares if it gets to a top of a hill a few seconds slower. Im more owrried about the other 95% of important stuff i need the truck for.

The engine is basically the same as the 5.4's in the 04-08's.....except for a few tiny things!.....The real difference is in the 6 speed tranny!....

Only surprise was that we were #1 in mpg. Oh and I thought we might do a bit better under load...

They should test the Ram agianst its now true competition... the Avalanche.

It may have the lowest power, but there were comments made in the article and by readers that complimented it. Stating that most people towing more than the 6500 lbs they were using in the tests want control and safety more so than being able to race a honda while towing.

Personally if I am gonna tow alot, id take the Ford. Who cares who can fly down the 1/4 with a load or not. I just wanna get the load from A to B safely and efficiently.

Impressive, finally a good 'apples to apples' non manufacturer sponsored comparison and including realistic 'day to day' driving scenarios for any 1/2 ton buyer to do some good comparison shopping for what you would use a 1/2 ton for. And wow are we rather pathetic on the power side now, not even a tuner/intake combo would bring us to the competition's level of stock performance !

This guy has me sold:

What? DOes anyone see the obvious? Forget all the subjective crap and look at the straight facts, the numbers.
Tundra 1/4 mile unloaded 2nd
Tundra 1/4 mile loaded 1st
Tundra hill climbw/trailer 2nd
Tundra brakeing 1st by a long shot

I think this speaks for itself....
